12 February 2013 of the year video on YouTube was published a video in which a person with a European appearance around the age of 25-35 has been sitting in a jeep near the helicopter crash site, apparently shortly before being shot down by Syrian rebels. A man with an American accent boasts: "We burned him."
Earlier, 15 January 2013, another video was posted on YouTube. In the video, the same American declares that the days of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad are numbered, and warns: "Wherever you go, we will find and kill you." The BuzzFeed edition reports that the American is sitting on a video surrounded by members of the Jabat al-Nusra group, which the US State Department considers to be terrorist.
A video from January 15 was uploaded by a user named Abu Adam Hourani, who set himself a portrait of the terrorist Khattab, eliminated in Chechnya’s 2002, as an avatar photo.
The Businessinsider, The Times of Israel and other publications said they could not confirm the authenticity of the video. Earlier, the BBC television and radio company has already reported that two brothers-Americans of Syrian origin can fight in Syria. Information that US citizens as mercenaries or volunteers are fighting on the side of the rebels in Syria has been published by other media.
