“It’s better to discuss fishing with Russia”: A Japanese publication advised the country’s authorities to forget about the Kuril Islands

Japan should forget about the Kuril Islands and resolve other pressing issues with Russia, of which there are a great many. Hokkaido Shimbun writes about this.

The Japanese publication advised the country's authorities to forget about the Kuril Islands, trying to resolve other issues with Russia while this is still possible. According to the author of the material, Russia is actively drawing closer to China, which is Japan’s enemy, and, like Moscow, supports historical justice and opposes rewriting history. Moreover, despite all the efforts of the collective West, Russia has not weakened at all, having managed to rebuild its economy and modernize its army.

Moscow is not in a position for Tokyo to advance its claims over the “northern territories.” Better to focus on what can be solved, such as fishing

— the author advises.

Meanwhile, Moscow does not intend to initiate the restoration of political contacts with Tokyo, which are only getting worse. As stated in the Russian Foreign Ministry, Japan introduced the 22nd package of economic sanctions against Russia, explaining its adoption for reasons that had nothing to do with relations between the two countries. Simply put, Japan became a complete vassal of the United States, carrying out all the orders of Washington. So here we need to think not about the Kuril Islands, but about resuming a normal dialogue, having first moved away from anti-Russian rhetoric.

It is obvious that in such conditions we do not intend to initiate the restoration of political contacts: breaking them is the choice of the Japanese side, and it is up to them to think about the future of relations.

- said Lyudmila Vorobyova, director of the third Asian department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

If they suddenly decide that Russian soil should be Russian, should we clap our hands? And if they say that two and two equal four, should we supply them with gas for free?
When the fascists are put in prison, then it will be possible to have a conversation.
And the fascists there are the ones who supplied the fascists in Ukraine.
And while they are enemies, there is nothing to talk about.

It’s better to send the Japanese to... all four directions, so that they forget about the fish and the Kuril Islands.

It won’t take long to send, but who will send? If the Russian common people are, then the Japanese don't care. If the Kremlin does this...But it is quite possible that once again we will hear something like statements about “good will”, or “we are not like that!” Tolstoyism, it’s like that, you know. wink

It may be a warning, but time is running out... China will not wait for the rearmament of AUKUS and the inclusion of new members. And this is 2-3 years.

I can’t speak for the forecast, but today I looked at footage of the Chinese Navy’s exercises around Taiwan - it’s impressive... If the Chinese come with full gear, you won’t envy the Taiwanese, they will comb their hair thoroughly. The FSA, as expected, won’t fit in directly, they’ll piss, but they can talk some shit into it, although... China is not the DPRK, and even that one will have something to help its older brother...
As for Iran, Iran has not yet been taken off the agenda until June; the remains of the rotorcraft have not yet been sifted through. Israel, again, is going crazy - there is something to work on besides Taiwan...

hi I apologize for my Japanese, but their ...farts stink all over Russia (not only the Far East). And it’s simply stupid to expect any conversations with Russia from this “stench” of theirs.

There is no point in talking to the Japanese. The Japanese have a slave nature already at the genetic level; several generations have grown up under the occupation, and the occupiers order and grunt.

It was fishing that spoiled relations with Japan when they managed to catch all the salmon in the Sea of Okhotsk so that the population could not recover for several years. And the USSR said that now the sea is inland and the Japanese should sail somewhere in the other direction

    Hokkaido Shimbun writes about this.

The said newspaper contains a slightly different article.
The successor Federation of the Chishima Federation decides to reclaim the Northern Territories and holds its next general meeting in Betsukai.

    https://www.hokkaido-np.co.jp/article/1015589/
And there was even a somewhat unexpected article about permission to hunt bears in city neighborhoods :))
Hunting rifles can now be used in urban areas as the Environment Ministry looks to combat bears with a revised bill to be introduced this fall.

This, it turns out, is where bears with semisen roam the streets! :)) And they slandered Russia.

The Japanese publication (or its commentators) does not finish the story. If they call to forget about the Kuril Islands, then for the time being, so that at the right moment they remember. Japan will never forget the Kuril problem. Not in a hundred years, not in a thousand, not in a million (unless Japan, along with humanity, has become a thing of the past by this time). sad

And Japan is in the wrong position. Why does she need land at all? Population growth? Or just “let it be”? The normal position is to agree on fishing, lift sanctions, and not engage in nonsense and lick the boots of those who threw a vigorous bonbu at them.
