An unknown body exploded in the sky above the Urals

An unknown body exploded over Yekaterinburg. Eyewitnesses to the event reported that approximately at 9.20 in the morning something very brightly flared in the sky, a trace trace was visible for several minutes. Outbreaks were recorded in the city center, in the South-West of Yekaterinburg and in the sky over the Koltsovo airport. Moreover, a real panic began in the South-West: dogs howled, alarms worked, birds got alarmed.

After the fall of the meteorite in the Chelyabinsk region, numerous messages have been received from local residents related to injuries, cuts and bruises. In particular, four pupils of the Chelyabinsk school number 130 suffered from glasses broken by the shock wave. Now they are provided with the necessary assistance, ITAR-TASS reports.

The meteorite fell in 80 km from the town of Satka, Chelyabinsk region. "In many houses of Satka, as well as in the buildings of Chelyabinsk, the front facing the site of the fall, the windows are broken," the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said. The celestial body itself has already been found in a remote area.

“The main life support systems on the territory of the regional center are operating normally,” the regional government reports. To eliminate the consequences of emergency created a special working group. The heads of districts and cities are requested information on the nature and amount of destruction. The Ministry of Environmental and Radiation Safety has been instructed to ensure the collection of reliable information on the state of the environment, including radiation background using special equipment of mobile posts, reports Interfax.

Regional police transferred to high alert. Vital objects taken under heavy guard.

The meteorite passed from Kazakhstan through the south of the Tyumen, Kurgan and Sverdlovsk regions. Above the center of Chelyabinsk, residents saw a bright white flash, and then heard a strong bang. In many homes, glass has broken out. Eyewitnesses also observed a "tail" of white smoke in the sky. There were interruptions in cellular communications.

Hello, Sergey! This video from the register is played on all channels, but I did not pay attention to the date and time. Even if we assume that we tried to hush up, but we are all sitting in the internet, many on the site from those parts, we would have told everyone.
Pay attention to the date and time again December 31, 18-30 pm belay In December, it is already dark at this time, so most likely the time and date set is not correct.

Sanya, I watched News 24'e ..... "Despite the destruction, information about the presence of victims has not yet been reported. Perhaps, they were avoided due to the fact that the inhabitants of the Urals were warned of the danger through SMS-mailing and the All-Russian Integrated Information System and public alerts.
"The population was notified of the incident through SMS and the OKSION system," the press service of the Ural Regional Center for Emergency Situations emphasized. belay (As in Kryms ... does not remind request )

Sergey, now cameras and shots of interior rooms, warehouses, offices, etc. get on the network and on TV. So judging by the way people behave, I got the opinion that they all forgot mobile phones at home. Are there people on the site from Chelyabinsk? Let them say were SMS or not. And then, that it is SMS, it is necessary to know more how to behave and where to run in case of a sheher. And such exercises are not carried out. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, who is now at the Economic Forum in Krasnoyarsk, commented on the meteor shower that fell over the Chelyabinsk Region in the morning. According to him, this natural phenomenon can become a symbol of the event in Krasnoyarsk.

The head of government joked about the meteor shower that destroyed houses and led to injuries in the region. The past rain may become a symbol of the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum.

Indeed, to whom the war, to whom the mother is dear! Looks like a little head in Siberia caught a cold (or he was born with such a diagnosis) when more than 300 houses were left without windows (this is in February) and hundreds of people were injured, hearing this from the head of government ... well, complete nonsense!

There is one explanation with the date on the recorder: maybe the guy was hanging or he pulled out the battery, the settings went wrong, he didn’t notice or didn’t know such an ambush (he doesn’t look vidyuh) it happens with Chinese.
This summer, I was driving from Moscow to Sevastopol, the registrar hung up on the road, pulled it out, inserted it on a new one and then matted kilometers without suspecting anything, and when after 3 weeks I turned on the video at home (I used it as a video camera) to to my disappointment, I found that I had just returned from "last year's vacation" the date was not at all in the subject ((

on the box they said that meteor shower, well, judging by the train in the sky, not a frail piece fell to the ground. here in Bashkiria, too, somehow one such crashed,
"Sterlitamak is an iron meteorite weighing 300 kg. On the night of May 17-18, 1990, it fell on the field of the Sterlitamak state farm, 20 km west of the city of Sterlitamak.

The first time we, a group of photojournalists, arrived on the field just a day after the meteorite lands, ”says Sergey Kramskov, a photographer for the Sterlitamak Worker newspaper. - There was a funnel about six meters. Around a lot of already run over, traces, of course, trampled. There, hardened metal sprays were probably collected for souvenirs.

The uniqueness of this event is that until this moment in history, only once a meteorite’s fall, observed by eyewitnesses, led to the formation of craters - it was the famous Sikhote-Alin “Iron Rain”.

Now the meteorite is in the Museum of Archeology and Ethnography of the Ufa Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. "

The sharp howl of a siren of combat alert ordered silence so suddenly that the Operative shuddered in surprise, splashing coffee on the floor. The thermos and the cup flew off to the side, and after a second he was already sitting in his chair, clicking the toggle switches of microphones and the buttons of the monitoring systems. Operators of the Outer Space Monitoring System vied with each other to report on the situation, trying to hide the fright behind the raised intonations.

              - I see the goal! - the speakers rang. - The goal is single! Ballistic! Identification defies! Coming from the East! He is heading for the USSR! The distance is forty thousand kilometers! Speed…

              - Distance thirty nine thousand kilometers! - immediately another voice wedged into the conversation and instantly recovered: - Thirty-eight thousand kilometers! Continues to decline ...

“... about a thousand kilometers per second!” - The reports came in hysterically screaming shouts, almost interrupting each other. - I can’t determine more precisely ...

“... will enter the upper atmosphere after thirty seconds ... thirty-six seconds!” “The voices of the operators were already shouting.”

              - ... the expected entry point into the troposphere is over the eastern foothills of the Ural Range! Coordinates…

              - ... the distance to the goal is thirty-five thousand kilometers! Continues to cut ...

The speaker's angry cry slashed sharply over his ears:

              - Estimated point of contact - the area of the city of Moscow! - The operator did his best to hide the fear that gripped him. “Before contact, thirty-three seconds!”

Time for the Operation merged into a single machine-gun queue of actions. He gave commands and performed necessary actions as quickly as he had never before worked in his life. Parts of the air defense have already been raised on alarm, the regiment covering Moscow is waiting for instructions, the Ministry of Defense is notified, most likely the duty generals are racking their brains over whether to deliver a retaliatory nuclear strike, but only for whom? The target appeared in space suddenly, the satellites did not detect either the launch or the launch of the rocket on the ballistic trajectory. Perhaps in these seconds the General Secretary is already awakening, or as he is now, the President ... But all this does not matter. The colonel was a good rocket launcher. And, like any competent professional who is now in the premises of KP, he perfectly understood what would happen in thirty seconds. The target will strike Moscow with all the ensuing consequences. And it’s not that half a minute is left before the strike, and the deployment time of the S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems is five minutes. There is always someone in a fighting position, plus an air defense squadron in the air, plus a system of stationary missile systems designed to intercept in the atmosphere. We can get an enemy intercontinental ballistic missile on approach, seventy to seventy-five kilometers from Moscow. But not one of the existing missiles today is capable of intercepting a target moving at a speed of a thousand kilometers per second. A maximum of one thousand two hundred - one thousand three hundred meters per second. But not a thousand times more ... Could the Americans have been able to develop and produce such a projectile, having managed to keep everything in the strictest secrecy ... Of course, you can experience the ghostly hope that the target will lose speed when it enters the atmosphere, and we will have at least the smallest chance to intercept, but it’s so clear that it will not slow down a thousand times. A blow to Moscow cannot be avoided. And that means ... The Colonel shrugged painfully. Is war really? How did they correctly calculate the blow. In the capital, night, people sleep in their homes, the victims will be maximum. And with this restructuring no one is waiting ...

                Suddenly there was a pause.

“Nothing ...” the operator involuntarily gasped and immediately hastily reported: “The object entered the atmosphere and sharply lost speed!”

                - I observe the separation of goals! - immediately followed by a report from another post. - The goal is a group, multiple ... Hundreds of marks! Falling fast!

                - Yes, it is falling apart in the air! - Suddenly someone exclaimed, not at all according to the charter, and the frozen KP was immediately exploded by a storm of reports.

When five minutes later it became completely clear that the target, which turned out to be an unknown cosmic body, presumably a hollow meteorite consisting of icy gases, collapsed, entering the Earth’s atmosphere, Operational firmly decided to make today's date the second birthday for his children. He wearily sat back in his chair and only now realized that it was soaking as if he had been in heavy rain. From somewhere in the distance the thought came that now he knows exactly what the doctors want to say when they say the word “stress”. The colonel put his hand into the inner pocket of his tunic, took out a package of validol and sent a couple of pills under his tongue. He allowed himself to close his eyes for a few seconds, soothing his heart pounding, and trying to jump out of his chest. It worked out, Operational thought. Of course, now an entire epic with this meteorite will begin, the debriefing and the distribution of slaps. From where it arrived, why they didn’t notice right away, because of what they were not ready, where it had fallen, what it consisted of, what it left behind, how and thanks to which there was such a fantastic drop in speed that saved the lives of half the planet, and the devil knows how many more questions . After these reviews, you can easily become a general or lieutenant colonel. But now the colonel was not interested in all this. Then. All later. And now he will set aside time for rest. Little. Just a short forty seconds. Just a little bit. This is nothing compared to how painfully long the Endless forty seconds last.

In fact, to prevent the spread of radiation in 1959, the government decided to establish a sanitary protection zone on the most contaminated part of the radioactive trail, where all economic activity was banned, and since 1968 the East Ural State Reserve was formed on this territory. Now the infection zone is called the East Ural Radioactive Trace (EURT). And many went to the zone for mushrooms, back in Soviet times .. After the collapse of the USSR, the best telescopes remained in specially equipped observatories in the mountains of Uzbekistan, the Tien Shan and other now foreign territories. A-135 theoretically can bring down such things if there is tracking and target designation in time and the car selects the object as a missile attack and Putin will give the command to defeat. request But the question is how to track in advance

Guys. Here the speeds are incommensurable with the capabilities of any air defense / air defense systems. This is so far beyond the available technologies.
A meteorite in the atmosphere has a speed of approx. 100 Mach. (average). The promising S-500 can (must be able to) shoot down targets at a speed of up to 20 M.
Today, nobody knows how to shoot down targets with such a speed of movement.

Well, suppose we spotted, calculated the trajectory (ballistic, sort of like a readable one). The missile with its 4Ms was gone, lo and behold, it’s achieved (I can hardly imagine HOW this is happening here) and instead of the first small object with good kinetic energy, we got a whole scattering of the same objects with a slightly lower energy and a desire to immediately fall to the ground ... And instead of a point fall, a hail of fire in a good territory.)))

          Wedmak,

The speed of meteorite entry is from 11 to 72 km / s, but with a speed of falling to the ground from a height of 20 km - already 50-200 m / s.

          - By the way, the S-400 Triumph hits targets with a maximum speed of 4800 m / s, flight altitude 60 km
          - A-135 "Amur" missile defense system intercepting targets at speeds up to 7000 m / s
          - S-500 "Prometheus", 55R6M "Triumfator-M" air defense systems (not yet in service - will be from 2017) - up to 7000 m / s, as well as the destruction of low-flying satellites

          - S-300PMU1 - up to 2800 m / s, range 150, height 27 km
          - Fort air defense missile system with 48N6E missile - target destruction at speeds of up to 3000 m / s, and a height of 27 km
All TTX from memory and open sources so if wrong correct

As a rule, the A-135 computer selects such objects as garbage. The program is so laid. Moreover, it is impossible to calculate the quasi-ballistic trajectory as the speed burns and the trajectory changes. It’s just like maneuvering or planning a warhead

Charge undermining in the target area with the help of a non-contact type fuse, the defeat occurs with a field of fragments formed in the direction of flight towards the target or in the selected direction. which flashing the object plane or rocket. An asteroid is a solid literally burning piece of iron and it is not a fact that a rocket will be able to destroy it; it is not intended for such purposes. Only contact explosion An MS rocket is capable of destroying an asteroid, and the probability of iron getting into iron at air defense complexes is not provided if I am not mistaken in the first place. Yarbay,

In Israel, it is highly specialized and works only on low speed targets flying strictly along a ballistic trajectory.
Therefore, the computer has enough time for selection along the path. It is also powerless against asteroids. There are no such missile defense systems in the world. C-500 if it is tied to the SPRN and A-135 of Moscow theoretically and will be able to shoot down such cars, but again there are many nuances in terms of search algorithms and target determination.

In your opinion, if sufficient funds are allocated for the development of this type of weapon, will it be able to create this ????

                      Yarbay,

The American space agency NASA intends to use the powerful Russian long-range space communications radar RT-70 in the fight against asteroids.
It is this commitment that NASA House of Representatives made to NASA at a meeting on June 18, during which the agency’s budget for 2009 was also approved in the amount of $ 20,2 billion.
Republican Congressman Dana Rohrabaker, deputy chairman of the House of Representatives subcommittee on international organizations, said that powerful long-range space communications radars are needed to detect asteroids that threaten the Earth, and that Russia has such a radar. "The Russian RT-70 radar can make a certain contribution," said Congressman Rohrabaker.
Afalet can tell about this P-2500 radio telescope (RT 70) in Dairy, he says that he served there urgently at the Central House of Commissaries. This is a kind of planetary radar, but at present it is not used for military purposes, that is, it is not built into the military missile defense system. There is still such one in Galenki (Ussuriysk) in 90 = x it was abandoned and badly damaged by banal moisture and leakage of roofs. Unique equipment failed. Now it has been restored and modernized and is working successfully. There is still unfinished in Uzbekistan but apparently I don’t know anything about it. he was buried.
Promising areas of application of RT-70
The use of RT-70 in the projects of the European space agency "Mars-express" and the Russian space agency "Phobos-soil", "Spectrum RG", "Spectrum-R" [10].
Autonomous radio astronomy research on RT-70 galactic and extragalactic objects in continuous radiation.
Ultra-long base radio interferometry in local and global radio interferometric networks.
                      Terrestrial-space radio interferometry.
Radar space objects in monostatic locator mode.
Radar space objects using VLBI methods.
Transmission of the solar corona, solar wind, interplanetary space by radio signals of deep spacecraft.
                      Astrometry, navigation, coordinate-time support.

So we have everything if there is a solution, it can be built into the RKO system for tracking and target designation, it’s another matter that the S-500 is not yet there and a unified space defense system has been created which we are told that it will be in the 20-30s . Americans have long been interested in these stations.

Quite right. and it is in this direction that the most interesting developments are being carried out today. Kinetic weapons. The Americans call it "the long arm weapon." When, roughly speaking, a "pig" flying at a speed of 10 or more Machs (ie, possessing colossal kinetic energy) in a very short time can reach any point on the planet and destroy the target. Delivery vehicles are already being tested. But there are still management problems. Terribly secret developments.

Earlier it was reported that meteorite rain had passed over Chelyabinsk. It was also assumed that an airplane exploded in the sky. However, later these versions were not confirmed. At the moment, reports from the Urals about the dead and injured. According to eyewitnesses, in one of the schools, a girl was killed by a broken glass. Four more students received shrapnel injuries. No official data on the victims has yet been reported, Vesti FM reports.

On February 15, the US space agency NASA planned to observe an asteroid the size of a half of a football field flying 27,7 thousand kilometers from Earth.

There weren’t any victims, but the people were shattered by the fragments .. It’s a miracle that no one was injured in kindergartens, today he took the child out of the kindergarten, the glass in the group and in the bedroom flew out, there are big glasses .. We dare, now we will insert it.

The double-glazed window does not crash, and the building structures themselves are severely destroyed. Exaggerated - wooden frames will fly out and that's it, and if there is a double-glazed window, a piece of the wall together with a double-glazed window can fly out.

I called a friend to ask her opinion - he works in the "St. Petersburg Geographical Society",
but is interested in the Ural Federal District, often travels across Russia in company with Chernobrov.
Nobody went to the Urals from her words, as there is a local branch of the Ural Federal District, which will sort it out and report to the rest.
About the sites of ufologists that can be visited, she said that there is nothing but the technical side,
such as fees and travel to the place.
Itself with the St. Petersburg group went to Sestroretsk, there were strange phenomena, interviewed eyewitnesses.
From the conversation I realized that if people waiting for an electric train on a suburban platform saw creatures,
who left the forest for a while, then maybe someone "pulled" to the place of the event, until the impressions were overgrown with bikes.

Here's more from the Internet on this subject.

"Was there a meteorite at all, a very big question. But here is the message about the test of a ballistic missile
            in Pakistan - http://www.vesti.ru/doc.html?id=1033768:
"As part of the verification of the combat readiness of the strategic forces, the Pakistani military on Friday successfully tested a ballistic missile ... This missile can also penetrate the enemy's tactical missile defenses."
Yes, there is something else said about the near range. However, as a former rocket launcher (air defense of the country) I can say
that a missile’s departure far beyond the landfill is quite an ordinary event.
Plus leaked information about the operation of the air defense system in Miass. Yandex gives a lot of links like http://www.metronews.ru/novosti/versija-cheljabinsk-ot-vzryva-spasla-pvo-miassa/

            Tpombo --- ZRXNgSD2J0fCQ:
"... The meteorite was shot down by the air defense systems of the Urzhumka station, the height is over 20 km. ..."
What makes up the puzzle of the event. It is these missiles that are catching up with unknown that
could actually explode over Chelyabinsk and fall near Chebarkul. Visually, the picture is very similar .. "
            http://matholimp.livejournal.com/1165581.html

"Of course, it is impossible to shoot down a meteorite with air defense and missile defense.
However, you need to see the difference between the verbs "knock down" and "knock down".
I had to carry out combat duty at "points" of air defense of the country (which no longer exists) in Karelia.
I know how the decision to launch is made there. Who at that moment realized that it was a meteorite?
Still not figured out. And the count went on for seconds ... "
            http://matholimp.livejournal.com/1166143.html

"The second meteorite in Chebarkul Island in 64 years.
After the meteorite fell in Lake Chebarkul on February 15, I want to introduce part of this collection and pay attention,
that a meteorite had already fallen into the same lake 64 years ago.
64 years - two cycles of 32 years of the Zoroastrian horoscope.
Moreover, 2013 is the year of the Raven (Zoroastrian horoscope_

            od-god-vorona-1)
I also draw attention to the Sterlitamak meteorite, which fell on May 17, 1990:
"In the twentieth century, the fall of the Sterlitamak meteorite is the second on the planet after the Sikhote-Alin (1947), when the flight of the bolide itself and the formation of the crater occurred in front of eyewitnesses."
After the events of February 15, 2013, the meteorite that fell into Lake Chebarkul disputes second place.
A very interesting story about the "City stones". They were written about them like this:
“The original, as it were, artificial form of stones was amazing. They were brown, like roasted coffee beans,
with a patterned and shiny surface. And most importantly - a cross was inscribed on many of them.
Immediately a legend was born of heavenly stones sent from above to intimidate unbelievers.
According to the stories, "crosses" fell out together with the hail or inside hailstones. "

Throughout the city, glass was knocked out by an explosive wave, double-glazed windows resisted and wooden windows were broken, communication does not work. Children were taken from schools and kindergartens. The flash was such that a heat was felt, and the blast wave seemed to fall on a nearby street. People are panicking, afraid of repetition. I'm talking about Chelyabinsk

A series of small ones are discharges, from them funnels are small, as in a lake or in soil of a meter 3.
Ahead at the course of the comet there should be a large crater (40 meters) from the leader discharge (but far away, for hundreds of kilometers).

"According to some reports, the threat of destruction of several cities in the Chelyabinsk region was helped to prevent the Miass air defense. The installations blasted the meteorite to pieces. The information is partially confirmed by sources close to the city's GRC.
The meteorite is shot down by air defense systems of the station Urzhumka, altitude over 20km.
There is no information about the victims yet. It is known that part of the meteorite fell on the Chelyabinsk zinc plant and in the Shershny area. Information continues to flow. "

The air defense (air defense) and missile defense (ABM) systems of Russia and the United States are currently not capable of detecting asteroid threats, Igor Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine, told RIA Novosti on Friday.

According to the Yekaterinburg Observatory, on Friday at 07.23 Moscow time over the territory of the Chelyabinsk region there was a meteor shower in the form of fireballs.

“It is obvious that the air defense and missile defense systems of both Russia and the United States could not detect the approach and the meteorite attack. This is due to the fact that the principle of the operation of the radar missile attack warning system is such that it is mainly aimed at searching for the launch of intercontinental ballistic missiles. Accordingly, in order to control the near-earth space, radars of significantly higher power and having a different directional pattern are needed, "Korotchenko said.

But how can air defense bring down a meteorite in the atmosphere, have they heard about space velocities? Of course, I would really like our air defense to be capable of this, but alas. Imagine what kinetic energy of this meteorite (or what was there) and speed, it’s got an air defense missile like an elephant’s pellet. Air defense can only detect, and even then at the last moment, but bring down ..... a big question.
The same applies to the armies of the East Kazakhstan region, they saw what they saw, and imagine such a turn of events - the East Kazakhstan region was discovered, calculated and reported, say the citizens of the Chelyabinsk region, do not worry, you may experience an atmospheric meteorite explosion. Then, it would be sure that there would be many victims, since a general panic and hysteria would begin.

Having learned about what had happened, I immediately called my friends in Chelyabinsk to find out what and how, so to speak, from the original source. I was very amazed at how the information from friends is very different from the information in the media. The media are eagerly writing about the evacuation, about ambulances driving en masse around the city, about the hysteria of the crowd. Listening to "Vesti" so there the journalist, taking interviews, in every possible way with the help of leading questions, sought from the eyewitness what he would say about the victims, panic and so on. And there is a lot of speculation about what it really was, and almost all of them are delusional.
Friends themselves say, yes, it banged, the plaster fell, the windows opened, the mobile connection went off (there was an EM pulse), and everything is normal.
The question is, it turns out the media deliberately hysteria. Although, here is an example I want to give: on September 25, 2002, in the Irkutsk Region, near the Vutum River, a meteorite exploded in the atmosphere (called Vutumsky), it is the second largest after Tunguska in power. And in all the media there is silence, then what now. And again, scientists are breaking their brains into pieces, what was it.

Chelyabinsk, February 15 (New Region, Alexander Rodionov, Olga Tarasova) - Major destruction at the Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant. Perhaps there are victims allegedly from the fall and explosion of a meteorite. An emergency mode has been declared at the plant, there are destroyed objects.

According to information from employees of the Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant, there are major damage to the enterprise. Immediately after the explosion of an unknown body and the debris falling to the ground, an emergency mode was announced at CZP. The alarm went off, people took to the streets according to the schedule, ”they told the New Region in the factory reference service.

Her employee refused to introduce herself, but indicated that he himself was not injured. At the same time, he assures that there are major damages in the territory of the plant, now the debris is being analyzed. “There is destruction, debris is being analyzed. There are, of course, victims. But what their condition is, we do not know. They’re probably under the rubble, ”says the agency’s interlocutor.

Earlier, with reference to Twitter users, it was reported that an asteroid fell on the workshop of the Zinc Plant in Chelyabinsk. A photo of a damaged building is published by @Dokhrimovich. The New Region correspondent managed to get through to the reception of the Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant. However, they could not provide details there, commenting briefly. “We have it here!”

We add that on television and in public transport in Chelyabinsk, people are asked not to leave the house and not go to the windows in the running line. And local residents report that the windows were broken even in local hospitals, but doctors continue to work in such conditions. Of the kindergartens asked to take the children home.

        1. Glow tel. Excitation of light energy in bodies usually occurs due to the thermal energy of the motion of the molecules of the bodies. Most solids even at temperatures around 500 ° C. Give noticeably red and yellow rays. With a further increase in body temperature, new rays with shorter waves are emitted, and former rays increase in brightness.
        (2) For example, a body with a size of D = 100 cm with a vertical entry (sin Q = 1) into the atmosphere at a speed of 20 km / s will experience the maximum pressure reached at the front critical (frontal) point, equal to (ru2) max = 400 atm. The strength limits of meteoroids lie in a wide range from 0,01 to 500 atm [5, 6] due to their heterogeneity, the presence of microcracks, and generally the loose structure of some of them. Therefore, they are often crushed even before reaching the maximum pressure. Large meteoroids, as a rule, disintegrate in the atmosphere, forming a swarm of rapidly decelerating fragments, which, in turn, falling into denser layers of the atmosphere, are further crushed until strongly decelerated and not further fragmented fragments are formed due to an increase in their strength with a decrease in size , which either fall to the Earth in the form of meteorites, or, if fragments of very small sizes are formed, scatter further under the action of thermal stresses ("heat stroke") to the size of coarse dust, which, being in a cloud of hot gas, melts under the action of convective and radiation flows and evaporates in tenths of a second [7]. In this case, at the end of the trajectory, an "explosion" of a meteoroid is formed with the fastest transfer of the remaining kinetic energy to the surrounding atmosphere of the planet with the fallout of remnants (sometimes insignificant) of meteoric matter onto the planet's surface. This "explosion" scenario can be described mathematically and is in good agreement with observational data on crushing and "explosion" of large meteoric bodies such as Prishbram (Czechoslovakia, 1959), Lost City (USA, 1970) and Innisfree (Canada, 1977 ).
        3. With a tangent impact, furrow-shaped craters of small depth arise with a weak destruction of the underlying rocks, such craters quickly enough collapse due to erosion. An example is the Rio Quarta crater field in Argentina, whose age is about 10 thousand years: the largest field crater is 4,5 km long and 1,1 km wide at a depth of 7-8 m.

Then everywhere around the windows showered (except Euro-windows) and a decent panic around. Cellular communications, except for MTS, were all gone. I met guests from heaven at work, I work in a team where there are women, so the effect of the panic was amplified. good

    Interesting meteorite fell ....
Both cellular and city communications were lost, that is, an electromagnetic disturbance occurred on the air, with tremendous power in all radio frequencies, which penetrated the shielded equipment of the Telephone (wired) station .....

Now look at the sky, inversion traces from stone meteorite?
This is due only to one, the content of metals and impurities of chemically pure materials in this body just rolls over ???

Crashed into pieces & Also an interesting question. The flight height was about 12-15 kilometers. Above the city ?? Question to me as a Mountain Engineer — What rock can explode with a giant release of energy that can create a shock wave that knocked out glass and made buildings vibrate ??? This is an artificial object, .........
experts commented, even "experts" from the commission on pseudo-science lit up ... they will probably provide small pieces of rocks and "Shnobel" scientists will explain that the stone can explode and "extinguish" the radio range !!!!!

BUT, however, they often say that a meteorite is approaching the Earth and will pass at a safe distance of 80 000 km .... This is almost-almost nothing by cosmic standards, at cosmic speeds - a deviation of hundredths of a degree, a delay in speed, a collision with another body and the trajectory is adjusted for these very thousands of kilometers .....

Judging by the video from Chelyabinsk, the explosion occurred AFTER this body fell. And judging by the accounts of eyewitnesses - there was an appearance of an explosive "mushroom", and then a shock and heat wave. Those. is not a sound shock wave when a body enters the atmosphere. This is exactly the explosion from falling to the surface of the Earth. However, this may well be a manifestation of the "release" of the colossal kinetic energy of the meteorite when it collides with the Earth, if its mass at the time of the fall was, nevertheless, relatively large. The nature of such interactions, it seems, is not yet well understood. And the composition of the meteorite is unknown. IMHO.

everything is normal, the explosion occurred at an altitude of 10-15 km, with an average speed of sound in the amosphere of 290 m / s (340 at the ground and 230 at an altitude of 12 km), a sound wave will reach the earth in 35-52 s. Moreover, I think that the strongest shock wave came from above at a certain angle to the ground, this indirectly confirms the character of the broken glass mainly on the lower floors (re-reflection of the shock wave from the ground, of course, where there were no obstacles in the way of the wave)

Asgard, I will comment on your post.

lost both cellular and city communications, i.e. there was an electromagnetic disturbance on the air
      - At high speed, a plasma cloud forms around the fast-flying body.

now look at the sky, inversion traces from a stone meteorite
      - Yes, at least from anything, and the meteorite’s material has nothing to do with it. In general, the inversion trace arises from the swirling movement of atmospheric air, because a rarefaction zone arises with conditions suitable for condensing water vapor. For example, behind a propeller aircraft, an inversion loop is also often formed, arising from air disturbance by propellers.

      Fall to pieces
      - A common occurrence in the fall of fireballs. In case of overheating, accompanied by rotation and leakage of hot air into all cracks of the falling stone, an explosion is a common thing.

Now about the size - 45 meters
      - This is a more than controversial issue. and I would not so categorically declare the size of this fallen cobblestone ...

But it will pass just below the geostationary orbits of the satellites. The part of the wreckage that will strike the atmosphere will fall in the region of Indonesia. NASA data.

Now, on inversion traces — yes they are — this moisture turns into a vapor state, nobody disputes the application (E), but the traces are still visible — it was burning metal — it was sprayed in the form of a suspension and chemical preparations with a burning temperature above 1000 degrees ........

Yes, the meteorite has cracks and heterogeneity and when it should fall apart ..... BUT ....., eyewitnesses say about one strong and many small explosions, Who can explain this to me? Is this NOT like the destruction of the Power Plant ......- This also explains the electromagnetic nature of the impulse, the monstrous pressure during the explosion (broken windows and destroyed roofs))) and of course the long-hanging traces in the sky from a fire on an Artificial body (along the way it was It)))

eyewitnesses say about one strong and many small explosions-Who will explain this to me?

There is a theory about the explosive decay of meteorites in
the result of an electrical discharge. "In the works of A. Nevsky, the process of formation of a positive electric charge on meteorites moving at high hypersonic speed in the atmosphere of planets is considered. The physics of this process is as follows.
An important gas-dynamic process of a body moving
In the atmosphere, a plasma shell forms around it. The surface of the body can glow to such an extent that thermionic emission begins, that is, the "evaporation" of free electrons. These electrons are captured and carried away by the oncoming plasma stream. The body acquires an ever-increasing positive charge. A huge electric dipole is formed with a concentrated positive charge on the surface and a scattered negative charge in the plasma tail.
Since the positive surface charge stabilizes at a certain speed and reaches a significant value, a huge potential difference arises between the body and the Earth, which can lead to breakdown of the air layer between the meteorite body and the Earth, that is, TO A LIGHTNING DISCHARGE. The breakdown voltage of atmospheric air depends on humidity, temperature and some other parameters. In other words, the conversion of the energy of motion of a cosmic body into the energy of an electric discharge can occur VERY STRONG
          EXPLOSION. "

The range in geometry and in the delay time of the shock wave is of the order of 80 km at a height of 10, further by heat flow or pressure beats. waves ...
For Moscow, calculations were made of the explosion of a megaton charge per 1 km - it was believed that the windows would be hit in a radius of 30 ... 40, but here the range is twice as large and the height - there is less air for the initial wave.
It is good that Chelyabinsk came under lateral radiation, and not under direct atomic light, which went forward - then eyes would be inserted not in glass. I wonder what is now in front of the explosion front?

The explosion that accompanied the meteorite in the Chelyabinsk region was 30 more powerful than the nuclear explosion in Hiroshima, NASA experts said Saturday. According to their latest, corrected estimates, the energy released as a result of the explosion was estimated at 500 kilotons, rather than 300, as previously stated.
The size of the celestial body at the entrance to the atmosphere was 17 meters (according to previous estimates - 15 meters), mass - 10 thousand tons (previously it was said about 7 thousand). In total, 32,5 seconds elapsed from the moment it entered the atmosphere until the meteorite fell.
NASA experts call the event that took place in the Chelyabinsk region unique and compare it with the fall of the Tunguska meteorite at the beginning of the XNUMXth century. Such phenomena can be observed on average once a hundred years, they note.

I agree with you Volkhov is a small "Tunguska" - natural synthesis (EMP is weak, etc.) This is what the Internet has in the world - even NASA, it is necessary to "explain" - they used to be silent or the like.
It is easy to assume that they will soon begin to bring down the Internet.

In Russian chronicles, the fall of a meteorite was first mentioned in 1091: “In the same summer, Vsevolod was at a glance for fishing bestial for Vyshegorod, who noticed the tenet and cried out to the cries, the reptile was magnified by a serpent from heaven, horrified by all people. At the same time, I’ll knock the earth, like a Mnozi hearing ... ”from a brief description of this event of the Lavrentievsky Chronicle. Objectively, from this record you can count the age of Russian meteorics.
In 1290, a stone cloud fell on the city of Ustyug. Saint Procopius warned the townspeople about this misfortune. He, with sobs and supplications, was able to divert the rockfall to the side to the wasteland, due to which no one of their people was injured. After this miracle, a temple was built in the village of Albovo, at the base of which one of the meteorites was laid.
The Bible describes the death of an army of five kings from a phenomenon very similar to a powerful meteor shower: “When they fled from Israel along the slope of the Mount of Bethel, the Lord threw large stones at them from heaven to Azeka, and they died; there were more those who died from the stones of the city than those whom the sons of Israel slew with the sword ”(Joshua 10:11).
In the city of Mecca (Saudi Arabia), there is a stone, it is called the Black Kaaba Stone. The Kaaba is the most sacred place in Islam (literally, “a place surrounded by honor”), a cubic structure inside the Forbidden Mosque in Mecca, for which all Muslims of the world have been oriented for prayer for 1400 years now. The Qur'an says that the Kaaba is the first construction in the world for worshiping Allah. Respect for this shrine and the Jews, they worshiped there one God. With equal respect, the Christians came to the Kaaba. However, over time, the Kaaba became an exclusively Muslim shrine. The sanctuary on this site existed in the pre-Islamic era. Some researchers claim that the Kaaba is the oldest temple on Earth.

Fig knows that they write to the journalist about panic, in Yekaterinburg everything is generally calm, some did not even pay attention to the outbreak from the Moscow highway. In Chelyaba, it is more interesting, a friend's windows were completely blown out at work, his wife was blown off the couch at home. He himself was practically an eyewitness, he saw the "porcini mushroom" (by the way, I too, but from Sredneuralsk in the direction of the Moscow highway between 9-30 and 10 am) as well as a sound shock wave 3 minutes after the mushroom. Something like this. He works as a journalist. He was immediately sent to the "crash site". He says that there are at least 3-4 places of fall, everything is cordoned off and no one is allowed. News will come later. The city is not like panic, but the whole city is in a traffic jam, while driving around the city, I saw enough of the broken glass. As for whether it was a meteorite or not, I contacted friends from the geological department, I barely got through. The phone was busy for about 20 minutes. He says that half the city has been calling and asking about UFOs and nuclear missiles. For a long time he did not laugh like that.))) This is not a meteorite speaking, but fragments of an asteroid and very small, no larger than a soccer ball, it fell apart in the atmosphere and most of it burned up there. it would be that larger, and the blast wave would be stronger and more destruction. This is not an ordinary phenomenon. but not critical. And that part of the journalists. that they create panic and frighten with a "more powerful meteorite" by the evening you need to either shoot or go back to school to go through physics and astronomy. The meteorite is not a ballistic rocket, and not a spacecraft, it will not rise into the Earth's orbit, so that they will go back to the Urals again.))

I am telling this as an eyewitness. We watched from the windows, all-round view of the city.
First, an incomprehensible object appeared between Lake Smolino and the city forest, above the medical town, approximately. There DID be several smoky trails leading up to it, two or three. This is where many people came up with the version that the S-300s were working. Whether this is true or not, I don’t know, I’m not an air defense specialist.
Then, right on the object, 2 bright flashes appeared nearby; some people mistook them for airplane nozzles.
Then a bright big flash that filled the entire city with light. Anyone sitting in the car felt the windows heating up.
There was a powerful short-term electromagnetic pulse, cars did not start, and the alarm did not clear.
    Several explosions were heard next.
This object disappeared and did not fall anywhere.
A few minutes later (2-3 at most), another object appeared, which quickly flew towards the Zinc Plant and crashed directly into the workshop, next to the pipe. The accuracy was amazing. It looked like something out of a science fiction movie.
    After this, the evacuation began.
The evacuation was carried out by the office building security service. The Ministry of Emergency Situations was nowhere to be found. There were a lot of traffic police officers, but they stood there like sheep. After a minute or two, mobile communications were cut off, except for MTS (it’s federal). Apparently, so as not to create panic. The SMS notification was sent only by Skylink, but not immediately.
Children from schools were kicked out in crowds onto the streets; if something flew into one of them, I don’t want to think what would have happened.
To the credit of people, there was no panic, despite numerous minor accidents and traffic jams.
There are many victims, especially in enterprises and workshops. And also in the institutes and the regional hospital, which were under the first explosion. Mainly from collapsed ceilings and flying glass. Help was provided to people on the spot, so the data from the Ministry of Emergency Situations is incorrect. One good thing, no one was killed.
The local authorities found themselves in complete s..e. Complete inarticulate silence. Information about what was happening could only be obtained from the federal media. Thanks to them, especially RIA Novosti.
Now there are queues at gas stations, and the expectation of a second strike, they promise, at night. People were sent home, children from schools and kindergartens.

I’ve been reading your site for a long time, but I haven’t registered, although sometimes I really wanted to speak out, but today I just couldn’t resist. I apologize in advance for being emotional.

What happened in the Urals is a fairly common phenomenon in the Universe. It was a meteor shower, this is clear to any schoolchild who has studied astronomy and physics. Most likely these were accompanying object 2012 DA14 fragments measuring about a meter or less. This object has been known about since winter and astronomers have been planning to observe it for a long time. The only news was that the object was accompanied by a cloud of debris and modern systems, both military and astronomical, were unable to predict this. It is a fact.

The object itself will pass on February 15 very close - at a distance 27 000 km. I think it will be clearer to many here if we tell you that this is less than the orbit of geostationary and geosynchronous satellites.

There may be more falls, because... such a cloud can either accompany the asteroid, or go behind it or in front. It is also possible that there will be no more meteor showers.

In the Chelyabinsk region, many meteorites were recorded entering the atmosphere and these were “seeds”, some burned in dense layers of the atmosphere, some exploded in the air after overheating and did not reach the ground, a few still fell.
The effects of thermal flashes, blast waves and electromagnetic radiation are quite common, because the speed of the meteorite is enormous and we must not forget that in the formula for kinetic energy it is the speed squared, but not the mass. A meteorite in the atmosphere is surrounded by the substance of which it consists, which turns into plasma, because friction creates a huge temperature (remember the temperature conditions of the edges of a wing at supersonic speeds, and here the speeds are even higher), plasma is an ionized substance, that is, it emits in many ranges and quite intense. When it hits the ground, most of the meteorite practically evaporates, turning into plasma and dust (depending on the composition of the meteorite, speed, angle of entry into the surface and the surface itself).

No air defense systems could hit these objects and jokes about brave air defense officers are ridiculous.
All the talk about something being shot down there is just rumors. The “contrail” trail is just the consequences of the enormous temperature and evaporating substance of the meteorite.
Flashes in the air and separation into parts are a consequence of the fact that some meteorites cannot withstand such overheating and literally explode or collapse.

The authorities will again remain silent for some time, because... they cannot say anything intelligible due to lack of preparation and banal lack of education. When they are explained what really happened, they will think and report the official version. And some are just here to joke, find an excuse to drink or shake their fist at a potential (imaginary) enemy. But the majority of adults served.

I wanted to add. About where it will fall, if anything else falls. The metorite flies towards the Sun (as usual), but across the ecliptic (plane of the solar system), that is, for us from north to south approximately. This means that at increasing latitude and moving to the east, the aiming point will pass, so to speak.

As an example, I am attaching a picture of the calculation of the approximate place where the famous Phobos Grunt fell (sorry, I don’t have time to calculate and draw)

You need to understand that this is a cloud and the sweep will have a wider wave, more precisely converging into a line due to the coefficient (imagine a very large sinusoid superimposed on the sweep of the earth). That is, it is very difficult to say exactly, but you can roughly estimate +-600 km.

hmm, “I’m not surprised” that you couldn’t resist, because such a topic is not Serdyukov with his billions. And in general, the “authorities” should have turned on “Swan Lake” in the morning and the president should have spoken about the fact that “he is together with the nation” - well, something like that

Scientist: Within 24 hours, several more of the same meteorites may fall to Earth
    l

SAINT PETERSBURG, February 15. Over the next 24-36 hours, several more meteorites similar to the one that fell in the Chelyabinsk region may fall to Earth. These meteorites (like the Chelyabinsk one) may be particles of the “tail” of a giant meteorite with a diameter of 50 m or more, which will fly dangerously close to the Earth on February 16. This was reported to Rosbalt by the head of the Department of Celestial Mechanics of Mathematical Mechanics of St. Petersburg State University, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation Konstantin Kholshevnikov.

According to the scientist, experts are aware of the dangerous approach of a large celestial body to the planet, which will fly at a distance of only 15 thousand km. Such bodies can carry behind them a tail of space debris particles, which includes smaller asteroids like the one that fell near Chelyabinsk.

“Therefore, it is possible that in the next few hours several more pieces of such space debris may fall to Earth. Where? This is difficult to predict, although in about a few hours it is possible, but under favorable weather conditions: clear skies, for example,” the professor said. “Now all scientists are studying how the meteorite behaves, but it is impossible to accurately predict the location of the fall.”

According to the astronomer, scientists cannot always predict the approach of cosmic bodies to the Earth, since only large asteroids with a diameter of 50 m or more are well known to science. The Chelyabinsk meteorite was relatively average - most likely, its diameter was about 10 m. “Scientists know about 500 thousand asteroids with a diameter of more than 10 m. But it is very difficult to take into account smaller ones,” says Kholshevnikov.

At the same time, the scientist agreed that his colleagues probably missed the approach of the Chelyabinsk meteorite. “Yes, people made a mistake, but partly it was still possible to predict,” says the doctor of physical and mathematical sciences.

As reported, a meteor shower occurred on the territory of the Ural Federal District in the Kurgan, Chelyabinsk, and Sverdlovsk regions. The bulk of the debris from the meteor shower that flew over several regions of the Urals Federal District fell in the Chebarkul area. In populated areas, the debris did not reach the ground, but the windows in the houses were broken by the shock wave. Hundreds of people were injured as a result. More than 400 people have already sought medical help after meteorite debris fell in the Chelyabinsk region, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs reported. The largest number of victims was in Chelyabinsk and Kopeisk.

According to the latest data from the operational headquarters in the regional government, a meteorite that passed over the territory of the Chelyabinsk region fell into a lake 1 km from the city of Chebarkul.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, background radiation in the region remains normal. Among the affected facilities are the Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant and the Yuzhnouralskaya State District Power Plant.

Either the owner of the camera did not set the time and date on it correctly, or the pictures do not belong to the meteorite that the news reports.

We need to see if these two events are related or if it is just a coincidence. When I say two events, I mean the approaching asteroid and what happened in the Urals. Perhaps the asteroid was not flying alone, but accompanied by asteroid rain, and these small ones were affected by gravity.

Doesn't limp. The renovation of the facade and communications was done for 5+ (10 entrances, 9 floors, the street is a couple of kilometers, and this is an example of the massive renovation of thousands of houses in the city). Only it was 6 years ago. And the loot there was initially not budgetary, but most private. The companies simply billed the city, not the apartment owners. With mass construction, the cheapness will show up very quickly.

I think that in Chelyabinsk companies will quickly figure out their gamble. Maybe the windows will turn out to be gold according to the estimate (for the state), but it’s better than old ones. I don’t think that beyond the Urals anyone would risk stealing by placing a cheap one. The climate is never like Crimea. How do you imagine a cheap double-glazed window for cold climates? Less thickness and quantity of glass, non-UV resistant plastic. But the technologies have been developed and it’s a holiday for local producers. And the whole country is taking a closer look at the problem.

Two workers spend longer hauling debris and parts of new windows than installing them. The hand is full, the technology has been worked out, like not completely disassembling a Kalash. How many years have passed, but everything is normal.
When I bothered with the question, one window almost stood up to the size of dead presidents... And what the city supplied was of excellent quality. I changed the windows twice, I know the salt.

There is a version that plastic windows are harmful, there is lead as a PVC stabilizer and they do not allow fresh air to pass through, making circulation difficult. Microventilators sometimes do not solve the problem, and this is for luxury profiles = >> the best option is wooden windows with triple glazing. However, there are no comrades according to taste and color.

Friend, I’ll tell you as a person who devoted 10 years of his life to this business: in wooden windows, wood and environmental friendliness have the same name, since for a long service life and resistance to weathering, wood is impregnated with such a chemical...)))
As for the lead in plastic, it is the same lead oxide as in crystal glassware. As far as I remember, no one has been poisoned yet).
I will also answer the previous speaker. Alas and ah. It is precisely when purchasing “for budget money” and with any mass construction that the quality suffers in the first place. Since this is where all the juice is squeezed out of the contractors, and as a fact, ANY reduction in price leads to a loss of quality. (No one works for free) New “elite housing” is mainly equipped with cheap Turkish or “joint” plastic by Tajik installers. And God forbid, if the designer understands what kind of requirements he is introducing into the project, and does not mindlessly copy numbers. And this happens everywhere, WITH RARE EXCEPTIONS!!!! Due to the price, normal windows are installed very rarely. Alas, this is a fact. The average price for a normal (!!!) window in Chelyab and Yekaterinburg is 12-14 thousand. At the same time, they manage to put it at “9999”. The result is that the courts are filled with lawsuits.

The world is full of miracles. My first epic with windows happened at the beginning of the last decade... The windows didn’t last even five years. The balcony was decorated with wood and glazed a la loggia back in the 90s. (someday it would have to be dismantled because it was homemade) Suddenly the renovation of the facade of the house begins. They offer me either to replace the balcony and all the windows, or to go through the forest, due to the fact that the contractors doing the repairs will not contact me for the sake of one balcony. Their work system is based on the apartment, without taking into account the number of windows in it. The surveyors said that it was not profitable for them to install one window. They have a “mass feast”, like pop artists on New Year’s Eve. I decided to take a risk. So what they gave me for free was better than what I paid for money. I saw the frame parts in a disassembled state. (Lada and Mercedes) Yes, I experienced a pattern break and other cognitive dissonance. But freebies happen. good The windows that the city installed do not fog up like the previous ones. Even at minus 35. The installers there were Russian guys, about 30 years old. They were dressed very decently, it’s clear that the salary allows it. A laser roulette costs a lot of money, and there were dozens of such teams in the house... By the way, when the heating was changed, the entire riser (9 floors) was done during a work shift. The men, among themselves, were discussing salaries and the desire to *rip up... So I accidentally found out (they were discussing in my presence) that their salary was under 90 thousand (those who plow), and someone in the brigade cut down 120 ... So much for the Tajiks.

That's what I wish for Chelyabinsk residents! And jobs against the backdrop of disaster and decent repairs not at the expense of your wallet.

Another federal politician, leader of the LDPR faction Vladimir Zhirinovsky, generally believes that the emergency that occurred in the Urals was not a meteor shower. “The Americans are testing new weapons. Kerry wanted to warn, he was looking for Lavrov on Monday, but Lavrov was on a trip somewhere in Africa, he wanted to warn that there would be such a provocation, and that it could affect Russia. And everyone here is shouting that these are meteorites falling! It’s as if we are a primitive tribe!” Zhirinovsky was indignant. wassat wassat

The military discovered a crater with a diameter of about 6 meters at the site of the supposed fall of a meteorite fragment near Lake Chebarkul.

This was reported by the RIA Novosti agency with reference to the Ministry of Defense. The radiation background in this place is normal. It was previously reported that meteorite fragments were found in three districts of the Chelyabinsk region. In Chelyabinsk, more than a thousand volunteers have already volunteered to help eliminate the consequences of meteor shower. People are being sent to hospitals. According to the latest data from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, more than 500 people were injured, 112 were hospitalized, many of them children. In the Chelyabinsk region there are several hundred buildings with broken windows. The necessary assistance to the victims must be provided immediately, President Vladimir Putin said today. At a meeting with the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Vladimir Puchkov, he said that we have not yet established an effective system for monitoring meteorite falls and warnings. The head of the department at the Institute of Astronomy of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Oleg Malkov, admits that the object that fell today in the Urals came as a complete surprise to all specialists. Russian scientists lack the funds to develop effective methods for preventing asteroid threats. The Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Sverdlovsk region, which was also affected by the meteor shower, will conduct exercises to prevent and eliminate the consequences of the fall of celestial bodies. This was announced by the head of the department, Valery Ustinov, ITAR-TASS reports. He noted that such exercises have never been carried out, but today showed that they are necessary. ...

    It's a pity I didn't make it to America a little.
On the territory of Russia in history there was also a fall of the Tunguska meteorite =>>>
On the morning of June 30 1908 year, a fiery body flew over central Siberia, moving in a northerly direction; its flight was observed in many settlements in that area, and thunderous sounds were also heard. The body shape is described as round, spherical or cylindrical; color - like red, yellow or white; there was no smoke trail, but some eyewitness descriptions include bright rainbow streaks extending behind the body.
At 7:14 a.m. local time, over the Southern swamp near the Podkamennaya Tunguska River, the body exploded; the force of the explosion, according to some estimates, reached 40-50 megatons of TNT equivalent
The explosion on Tunguska was heard 800 km from the epicenter, the blast wave felled a forest over an area of 2100 km², and the windows of some houses were broken within a radius of 200 km; The seismic wave was recorded by seismographic stations in Irkutsk, Tashkent, Tbilisi and Jena.
Soon after the explosion, a magnetic storm began that lasted 5 hours.
The unusual atmospheric light effects that preceded the explosion reached a maximum on July 1, after which they began to decline (individual traces of them persisted until the end of July.

“Many smart people have already begun, as people say, to profit from the consequences of a fallen meteorite: they are breaking glass in their homes in the hope of compensation in the form of new Euro-windows,” said the agency’s interlocutor.

In turn, the Eurostandard company, which installs plastic windows in Chelyabinsk, stated that the cost of such a service starts from 10 thousand rubles for a single-leaf window.

I am stunned by the hysteria in their voices as the news anchors deliver information from Chelyabinsk. What is it? Why escalate the situation like this, because thank God the damage is minimal, people are alive, no disaster happened. Why create such hysteria? This looks so hypocritical and cynical. Just now I was watching the news, the presenter was sobbing when she commented, after her comments I got the impression that there (in Chelyabinsk) a catastrophe of a planetary scale had occurred. What is this all for?
P.S. And the most interesting thing is that it seems that there is no more news, well, no, and that’s it, as they say - everything is calm in Baghdad. Damn, sensation, rating at any cost. And now we will be overwhelmed by a wave of pseudo-scientific programs in which unknown “experts”, doctors of unknown sciences and other charlatans will hang noodles on our ears. All media will now squeeze maximum profit from this incident.
Buy helmets, friends, there is a brain dump ahead, and this will be cleaner than any meteorite.

If there are comrades from Chelyabinsk here, I recommend it

If the glass in a window is broken as a result of an emergency, you should promptly fix property damage. To do this, a commission of the Home Owners Association (HOA) or government representatives are called, who draw up an act that indicates the damaged property, as well as the time, circumstances and reason for its damage.

If it is impossible to invite government representatives to your place, be sure to The owner of an apartment or house must take photographs of his damaged property with a camera or phone in the presence of neighbors, so that the court does not have doubts about the authenticity of the photographs. It is also recommended to create report of the damage and have the witnesses present sign it.

Then, in the room where the glass is broken, you need to try to keep warm.

To do this, if the window glass is cracked, at first you need to seal the outside of the cracked glass with transparent waterproof tape. If the glass is broken, cover the window with thick polyethylene, nailing it to the frame using bars. For added security, you can nail a piece of plywood to the frame until the glass is replaced.

If there is no plywood or film, at first you can cover the broken window with a cotton blanket or plug the hole in the window with a pillow.

Replacing broken or cracked window glass is considered a minor repair.

      This object seems painfully man-made.
What, you say, is the speed of the meteorite, 10-20 km/s? Wow!! then I dare to suggest that the ice at the place of impact should be broken, and not like in the picture!! Do you mind that it melted!? I don’t think that the speed of melting and further its evaporation exceeds (I exaggerate) the speed of the meteorite. And I don’t think there would be a clear boundary.
There are probably ballistics experts on the site. Correct me if I’m wrong: the “shell” flew in a hyperbola, therefore, at the site of the object’s impact, ice fragments would have fallen in the direction of the fall, right?

What turn? It was a gust of wind that blew the smoke away. There are also rumors about air defense. In this case, the role of air defense is assumed by the dense layers of the atmosphere, upon entering which the celestial body disintegrated.
