Tactical complex Pluton

"Pluton" - a short-range mobile missile system having a missile with a monoblock warhead. The development of the complex began in 1960 by Aerospatiale, Les Mureaux, and Space and Strategic Systems Division. The Pluton missile system was adopted by the French ground forces in 1974. The chassis was used as a base tank AMX-30.

The Pluton complex was a means of supporting divisions and corps and is intended to destroy nuclear attack weapons, artillery fire positions, launch positions of rocket forces, airfields, command and control centers, communications centers, and other small-sized targets in operational and tactical depth.

The missile complex consists of a guided missile, a set of ground-based verification and launch, as well as auxiliary equipment, placed on a track-type conveyor.

The rocket was equipped with a conventional or nuclear warhead. In the case of nuclear equipment equipped with a plutonium bomb AN-52, tested 2 July 1966 year and became the first French nuclear "tactical" ammunition.

With 1974, 30 launchers with missiles with different warheads were commissioned. Organizational missile systems were reduced to the shelves, each consisted of three fire batteries and a logistics battery.

In 1993, the complex was phased out of the French armed forces.

The "Pluto" rocket is a single-stage ballistic rocket having a solid-fuel engine with an unregulated nozzle, a simplified inertial control system and a non-detachable head part in flight. The rocket (not equipped with the head part) is transported and stored in a special container, which is also used to launch it. During transportation and storage, the nuclear warhead is placed in its own sealed container.

The AN-52 ammunition was produced in two versions, the 15 and 25 Kt power (of all the AN-52 ammunition, about 60 percent had a reduced power). The weight of the AN-52 nuclear bomb, which externally resembled an outboard fuel tank, was 455 kg, length — 4200 mm, diameter — 600 mm, and span of flight — 800 mm. The bomb was equipped with a braking parachute. The standard height of the blast is 150 m.

Two modes of operation of the engine are provided by a charge, which consisted of two layers of fuel - an internal fast-burning and an external slow-burning. In the first mode, the propulsion system operation occurs when accelerating to 10g. The second mode of operation of the engine at the end of the active section provides the speed 1100 m / s.

The control system of a simplified inertial missile. The control unit includes an analog computing device, as well as a gyroscope to determine the position of the rocket in space and the current speed. The executive device of the control system is aerodynamic control surfaces mounted on the ends of the stabilizer planes.

To launch a rocket, information about the target was to be transferred to the control system of the Pluton complex. This was done with the help of the C-20 UAV. Preparing for launch required 10-15 minutes. The command to undermine the warhead was issued when approaching the goal.

The warhead and the rocket were transported in containers separately on conventional military vehicles. Rocket and warhead in containers stacked on spec. lodgements with shock absorbers. Sealed containers had climate control devices. The rocket in the container crane was placed on the frame of the launcher and in this form was transported. The combat unit to the rocket docked in the launch area. After the launch, the rocket container is removed and reused.

Inside the conveyor is placed the equipment for receiving and processing data for firing, conducting prelaunch preparation and launching of rockets, orienting the conveyor to the starting position, and mechanisms of hydraulic actuators of the crane and frame.

The fire battery consisted of a mobile command-computing point, a pair of fire platoons, and a topographic reconnaissance platoon. The fire platoon consisted of the launcher and the AMX-10 BMP, which served as a direct guard.

The Iskander complex covers this system like a Tiger sheep. And if you compare with analogs - you need to give the parameters of our "Point (Y)", otherwise the information is about nothing.

Still, they compared 2 developments, between which they were under 40 years old. And the Iskander even now, in my opinion, has no analogues.

The question is different: Why do all arms reduction treaties apply only to Russia and the USA, and do not apply to NATO countries and other US allies in other treaties
