Everyone remembers what the struggle for technology was from the first days of the rocket era. It just so happened that initially German designers succeeded in rocket production; and even in the days of bloody battles, when the Red Army and the allies, overcoming the desperate resistance of the Nazis, were advancing deep into Germany, the specialists were already faced with the task of finding everything related to the technology of the FAA secret project.
With the beginning of the space age in the USSR and the USA nothing more closed than the national secrets of creating rockets existed. Rocketry has become the main criterion of the military power of states and their membership in the circle of superpowers.
How did it happen that the country that first discovered space, launched an astronaut, delivered moon rovers to the Moon and created space stations - lost this race in the end?
You can, of course, nod to perestroika and the collapse of the country that followed it; a sharp reduction in funds for the space program. But the reason is not only underfunding. In the years of the Great Patriotic War, it was even more difficult - however, we won the technical race with the Reich.
The unique documentary film “The Rocket that Came from the Cold”, released in the US in 2001, reveals the veil on this issue.
“Unique” - because it never occurred to the Americans even to somehow disguise the facts of the direct, in my opinion, betrayal of Russia's national interests by a number of people involved in its cosmic secrets. (Obviously, the directors were sure that our capitulation to the West was irreversible).
This is an amazing technology for American designers of the "closed type" of the NK-33 rocket engines, designed by S. Kuznetsov for the H-1 carrier in Samara according to the Soviet "lunar program".
This is what the American experts themselves say about this:
- This engine ... led to the revision of all US space technologies ...
- ... We did not know such technologies ...
-... These are the best engines on the planet. Western scientists considered this technology impossible ...
-... This level in the United States was considered impossible ...
The authors of the film do not hide the fact that they learned about its existence from intelligence.
The American film demonstrates the footage of how their MBR, potentially “aimed at Russia,” conducts a successful test launch.
When launching this ICBM, an imposing Russian representative is present, whom I identify as Yu.N. Koptev, head of Rosaviakosmos. (He later received a lot of accusations of prematurely flooding the Soviet Mir space station - not without persistent recommendations from the American "partners").
Russian specialist at the start of an American combat missile equipped with our engine? Who is crazy?
