The ex-Minister of Culture of Crimea, convicted of corruption, asked to be sent to a special operation

To the Russian former officials convicted of corruption crimes and asking to be sent to the front to participate in a special military operation of the Russian Armed Forces, ex-officials serving sentences have also been added.
A member of the PMC of Moscow, Arslan Khasavov, said that the former Minister of Culture of the Republic of Crimea, Arina Novoselskaya, asked to send her to the front. Telegram channel reports this Base.
According to the source, Arina applied for military service in the zone of a special military operation. Previously, Arina Novoselskaya was sentenced to 10 years in prison for crimes of a corruption nature.
A woman who served as Minister of Culture of Crimea from 2014 to 2021 received 25 million rubles from the owner of one of the companies. For a large sum, she was going to “turn a blind eye” to certain shortcomings during the construction of the Crimean State Center for Children's Theater Arts.
As the investigation learned, the ex-minister was going to buy her son David an apartment in Moscow for his eighteenth birthday. However, in November 2021, the official was arrested by law enforcement agencies. In July 2023, she was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Thus, according to the Baza Telegram channel, the woman decided to atone for her guilt at the risk of her life in the zone of a special military operation. However, it is unlikely that a woman could be taken into the units operating at the front, given that they are usually sent from prison to assault units.
