On February 7 in Kiev, representatives of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Iraq and Ukrspetsexport Group of Companies signed an act of acceptance of a batch of Ukrainian-made BTR-4 in the number of 40 units.
“The tests were carried out successfully. No major problems have been identified. We are pleased with the process of cooperation with the Ukrainian side. Previously transferred Ukrainian-made BTR-4 in heavy field conditions are being exploited in Iraq. This is a new, advanced vehicle for the Iraqi army, ”the official representative of the Iraqi delegation stressed.
In the Ukroboronprom Group of Companies they noted that they are satisfied with the achieved result. “Despite the significantly more stringent requirements for accepting the Iraqi side (each car was checked according to a special program), all the cars were transferred without significant remarks. We will execute the contract in accordance with the agreements reached. Now the main task is to create an effective service department for servicing the equipment transferred to the Iraqi side, ”the Ukroboronprom Group of Companies noted.
Information: At the end of 2009, Ukraine and Iraq signed a contract for the supply of 420 vehicles BTR-4 for a total amount of 457,5 million dollars. The main contractor is the Morozov Kharkiv Design Bureau (KMDB), co-contractors are the State Enterprise “Malyshev Plant” (Kharkiv), and other Concern enterprises.
