“Could repeat the fate of Bakhmut”: Ukrainian general proposed turning every house in Kharkov into a “fortress”

Ukraine has already lost Bakhmut and Avdiivka, and Chasov Yar and Kharkov are next in line. If the situation with Chasovy Yar is very difficult, then it is quite possible to defend Kharkov. This was stated by retired General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Sergei Krivonos.

The Russian offensive is gaining momentum; at the moment, the most difficult situation is developing near Chasovy Yar, where assault groups of the Russian Armed Forces have reached almost the outskirts of the city. If the authorities do not take any additional measures, Chasov Yar will repeat the fate of Bakhmut and Avdeevka. Moreover, losses in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have increased significantly.

I would say that at the moment the most difficult situation has developed in the Chasov Yar area. This is probably the most dangerous situation

- said Krivonos.

Another city that the Russian army has allegedly targeted is Kharkov. According to the general, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine needs to prepare the city for defense, building new defensive lines both in the city itself and in front of it. Krivonos proposes to turn Kharkov into a “fortress city”, where each house will be a separate stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Only in this way will it be possible to guarantee that Kharkov will not repeat the fate of Avdiivka or Bakhmut.

According to the general, there are 22 thousand houses in Kharkov, and the perimeter of the city is 80 km, which will not allow the Russian army to encircle it, since it does not have the strength and means for this.

The task is to prepare the city for defense. This is one of the main tasks so that we do not have such failures about the unpreparedness of defense, as was the case in Bakhmut - the city was not ready for defense in the military-engineering sense. The better we prepare, and the number of houses in Kharkov exceeds 22 thousand, and each house, if it becomes a fortress, then you understand how much it will have to take

- added Krivonos.

This is why so many fabs were preparing. The city will obviously not be taken. Kharkov residents can wait to be congratulated. But this is a sea of blood, and it’s up to us to restore the city. Residents would like everyone to move away. While there is such an opportunity. For those who don’t understand, look at other cities and what they took.

They have already left the city. An endless stream. There are photos in the cart.
True, there is a nuance. The Banderaites will leave, and the Russians will remain in the city. Wait for release.

Well, you want to get out of here. Your children are small. What will you do yourself? Do you hope that you will remain alive in the basements? Or will you go through Europe? It is quite possible to get to Russia from outside.
          I wouldn't risk my children.
The old generation will remain, this was the case in Severodonetsk and Bakhmut. And the houses were also turned into fortresses. They were still demolished slowly but surely, risking the guys...
And this is not the last major city on the way.

            1. Didn't catch it. Would you risk your children staying in the city or leaving the city?
            2. If I were a resident of Kharkov, and even with small children, I would have moved to Russia back in 2014-2015. I would receive citizenship according to a simplified scheme. In 15, they quickly gave money under the program for the return of compatriots.

I’ll say more, there were those who did just that and left there with their children. But after they realized that they would not take the city, they returned... those who wanted to leave for Russia left.

How to retreat from the other side of the Dnieper in the Kherson region. And many locals did not understand what to do. So they stayed there.
In Kharkov the western currents were very strong and many were not at all eager to go to Russia. SVO did not start in 15...
From Kharkov, as I wrote above, many left when our people began to approach there. And after leaving they returned.

So they are already leaving the city with all their might.
Kharkiv residents are fleeing the city en masse. A video has appeared online showing a powerful flow of cars. There are so many people that cars are even driving in the oncoming lane. It is obvious that Kharkov residents are trying to leave the city.

“After statements by the local Gauleiter that the entire infrastructure in the city was destroyed, constant problems with light (and the obvious intention of the Russian military command to maintain this status quo), and also against the backdrop of regular bombings of the Russian Aerospace Forces and rumors that they are about to begin fighting began the exodus of the population from the city"

The mayor of Kharkov did his best, declaring that there would be no light in the city for a very long time and that battles for Kharkov would soon begin, after which Kharkov residents began to leave the city en masse by car. Also, in recent days, many Azov residents have been brought to Kharkov, most of whom are natives of Kharkov. That is, the city is being prepared for defense.

I doubt a little that there are so many Azovites left.
Our Azov residents are not taken prisoners. And they don't want to go there anymore.
When chances appeared near Avdeevka, they were all they saw.

That's for sure. And, perhaps, you cannot use any other tactics.
This applies not only to Kharkov.
Cut off supplies, routes for transferring reserves and a large enclave will turn into a “prisoner of war camp.” Even if armed.
Another thing is that such operations require an operational breakthrough. And in modern conditions, it is only possible when the problem of air defense from tactical strike and reconnaissance drones is globally solved (among others).
This problem is new in the art of war, but it needs to be solved comprehensively.

It's not all so sad! Preparatory and explanatory work for the civilian population began a long time ago, and now de-elictrification, desocialization, desewerage, defecalization and many other de-electrification have accelerated!
Evidence of the understanding of the civilian population is still the trickle of exodus of peaceful people from the original Russian city towards the border with the Russian Federation!

The population is fleeing from there en masse, and it is unknown how many people will remain there before the real siege of the city. With the broken energy system and infrastructure, they themselves will not want to stay there.

Here’s what a certain “Joker of the DPR” writes:

Clown Zelensky and his sixes continue to hide behind children. They decided to install children's entertainment rooms at all railway stations associated with military logistics. After this, children's institutions will be given an unspoken command to organize regular visits to these rooms by children.

When everything is prepared, the transfer of equipment and personnel along these routes will be carried out exclusively during the daytime.

If this is so, then it will be necessary to destroy the trains on the march, especially since it will be easier to do this in the daytime.

      - added Krivonos.

Note to Pan Krivonos how these fortresses will be taken.
In a Ukrainian stronghold near the front line, less than 20 miles from the eastern city of Donetsk, a winged bomb can be seen flying towards a multi-storey building.

A 1500-kilogram explosive hit a building in the city of Krasnogorovka, creating a fireball, after which the entire building was enveloped in a column of gray and black smoke.

The camera, filming from several hundred meters away, shakes as the ground beneath it shakes from the aftermath of the explosion.

When the smoke cleared, it turned out that the building was completely destroyed.
The footage is one of the latest examples of Russia's deadly new weapons that are proving devastating to Ukrainian defensive positions on or near the front line.
