Senior officials from the United States, Israel, Qatar and Egypt discuss the parameters of the Gaza truce

High-ranking officials - CIA Director William Burns, Mossad chief David Barnea and Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani - met in Cairo to negotiate the terms of a truce in Gaza, Egyptian media reported.

Al-Qahera News, which has ties to Egyptian intelligence, reports the “quartet meeting” amid growing international pressure for a truce between Israel and Hamas.

The proposal put forward by Israeli negotiators in Paris late last month is "going back and forth" between the two sides.

- said the TV channel.

As experts and observers note, Hamas and other terrorist groups are awaiting the results of the meetings in Cairo.

Hamas is open to discussing any initiative that will lead to an end to aggression and war

- a Hamas representative told reporters on condition of anonymity.

Meanwhile, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani issued an official statement regarding the Israeli bombing of Gaza, where the number of civilian casualties is growing. Strongly condemning the Hamas attack on October 7 and defending Israel's right to self-defense, he stated in an interview with RAI Radio 1:

At the moment, the Israeli response against Palestinian civilians is disproportionate... too many victims who have nothing to do with Hamas.

The Palestinians are really supported by the Houthis and Qatar. The US is trying to shut down the operation, but the Jews are not listening to them! Egypt is stupidly afraid of the problems that will arise with the arrival of so many refugees...

Together they will try to persuade Egypt to accept refugees.
We live in strange times - science is developing, which cannot be said about man, the "unit of society".

This is undoubtedly true. In essence, Israel undertook to solve the issue by force of arms in a way that could only work in the form of a blitzkrieg. But it turned out that Israel does not have enough strength for a blitzkrieg, but in general for any kind of “krieg”.

Hello everyone colleagues. Especially for you, hold on! I don’t really follow this conflict here. Just wondering, have the main people in the Mossad and army intelligence even resigned?

The Mossad has nothing to do with it. Not their area. AMAN is army intelligence, and Shin Bet is the general security service. The main jambs are on them, most of all on AMAN. Three of them preliminarily resigned - the chief of general staff, the head of AMAN and the head of Shin Bet after the war. There will definitely also be a commission headed by one of the former judges of the Supreme Court and a report from the State Comptroller, which will determine the degree of responsibility of each. So far, they are acting competently within the framework of military operations, which does not negate responsibility for the failure of October 7. They have already publicly admitted their responsibility.
