Zelensky: US congressmen took money from Ukrainian pensioners

US congressmen allegedly took money from Ukrainian pensioners. This happened when they blocked the decision to provide assistance to the Kyiv regime.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky stated this during a conversation with journalists in Riga.
According to the head of the Kyiv regime, the lack of American money will primarily hit the most vulnerable segments of the Ukrainian population. Zelensky claims that without Western funding, 12 million Ukrainian pensioners could simply die out.
These statements by the President of Ukraine were made in response to a request from journalists to comment on the statement of US presidential candidate and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis regarding American assistance to Kyiv. The politician was indignant that money from the taxes of ordinary Americans goes to support officials and pensioners of Ukraine.
Zelensky said that Desantis spoke in this way while still a relatively young man and not understanding the problems of older people. He noted that the politician, due to his age, does not understand the importance and necessity of supporting pensioners in a country where military operations are taking place.
A week earlier, Ron Desantis said that too much money from the American budget was going to Ukrainian bureaucrats and pensioners. At the same time, the White House, according to him, completely ignores the so-called “Chinese threat.” Prior to this, the congressman also stated that the United States should achieve an end to the armed conflict in Ukraine.
