Transnistrian historian: Karl XII can’t be put up close with traitors and executioners Mazepa, Bandera, ShukhevychThe intention of the Transnistrian authorities to provide comprehensive organizational assistance to the Swedish authorities in carrying out on the territory of the republic events dedicated to the 300 anniversary of stay in Bendery, the Swedish King Charles XII, who fled there after the victory of the Russian army over the Swedes near Poltava in 1709, or, by definition, the Ambassador of Sweden in Ingrid Tersman, Moldova, 300 anniversary of the "Swedish presence on Transnistrian land", commented the head of the department of national stories Institute of State and Law of the Transnistrian State University Nikolay Babilunga.

I do not quite understand how cultural, sporting, humanitarian, and all other initiatives of peoples and governments can be inappropriate, even if some forms of statehood among them are problematic from the point of view of the world community ?! Literally the other day in Tiraspol a famous composer Yevgeny Doga gave a concert with our State Symphony Orchestra (being a native of Transnistria, the composer Yevgeny Doga, who has been living in Moscow for many years, during the Moldovan-Transdniestrian conflict, suggested that Russians go to Russia or bring them to criminal responsibility for separatism "- comment REGNUM). A few weeks ago, the American ambassador to Moldova brought performers from the United States to Transnistria who pleased our public with the sound of a real Stradivari violin. Before that, we had performers from France, Israel, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova and other countries. Transnistrian footballers meet with athletes from Moldova and other countries, and some, as I heard, even play at international competitions under the Moldavian tricolor. What problems could there be? It seems to me that it’s fortunate that, despite all the hostility of politicians and the inconsistency, and sometimes just the incompatibility of various state systems, we have the wisdom to use the opportunity of cultural communication and exchange.

As for the events that are scheduled for the 300 summer anniversary of the stay of the Swedish king in Bendery fortress, they are completely natural and necessary. Karl XII spent in Bender exile 4 of the year, which were very important both in his life and in the history of Transnistria, the history of Sweden, Turkey, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine and other countries. This is our common history, and no one will be worse off because we will know it better and study it more closely. After the defeat of Poltava, Peter the Great returned to captive Swedish officers their personal weapon, invited me to a feast, and then let go home. Karl in Bender continued to pursue an active policy, trying to put together a new anti-Russian coalition, in which he had no success. He was very dissatisfied with the Sultan, who did not take advantage of the opportunity to defeat the Russian army during the unsuccessful campaign for Pyotr Prut in Moldova. And after the brawl he had arranged with a brawl (Kalabalyk), the Turks simply forcibly expelled him back to Sweden, where he soon died under mysterious circumstances. To understand about this period as much as possible in the interests of each of the parties participating in this "cultural project". Neither I nor anyone else sees anything anti-Russian in it. Moreover, I hope that Russian museums, Russian researchers will take an active part in it. Our common history needs to be painstakingly studied, not spat upon and not anathematized by the old habit.

Of course, Karl arrived in Bender with Mazepa, and after his death he elevated to the hetmans his devoted follower Orlik, after whom a memorial sign was opened in Bendery fortress several years ago. But this is an important page in the history of Ukraine, which we also study, know and respect, regardless of how Mazepa and Orlik treated Russian statehood. But this is a completely different question. The Swedish king was not cursed by the Russian Orthodox Church and did not become a knight of the Order of Judas, invented by Peter especially for Mazepa. Moreover, in a certain sense, Karl himself fell victim to the intrigues of the restless Mazepa. And most importantly, the orange authorities never thought of representing the Swedish king as the national hero of Ukraine, a symbol of virtue and the first Ukrainian European integrator (October 9 2007 of the then "orange" President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko signed a decree "On the celebration of the 300 anniversary of events related to Hetman of Ukraine Ivan Mazepa and the conclusion of the Ukrainian-Swedish alliance’s military-political statement. ”These events included, among other things, the installation of a monument to Charles XII in Poltava for the 300 anniversary of the Battle of Poltava The Swedish public organization Association of Friends of the Stockholm Military Museum tried to donate a bust of Karl to Poltava, but the city refused to accept it. However, on September 11 in the village of Degtyarevka, Chernihiv region of Ukraine, was established in the presence of representatives of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry and other authorities. monument to hetman Mazepa and Karl XII. And on October 2008 1, Yushchenko and the King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustav took part in the opening of the international exhibition "Ukraine - Sweden: at the crossroads of history", which consisted of Xia at the National Museum of History in Kiev. In his speech, Yushchenko emphasized that thanks to this exposition, the Ukrainian public for the first time will be able to get acquainted with "relics of a difficult period - the XVII-XVIII centuries - the time when Ukraine tried to gain its independence" - approx REGNUM). It makes no sense even to put the name of this prominent political figure in Sweden with the names of such traitors and executioners like Mazepa, Bandera, Shukhevych and other national symbols of an implacable fight against the “Muscovites” for those crazy “orange revolutionaries” who in Kiev hang Santa Claus and Snow Maiden as , allegedly, the ideological weapon of Moscow.

Giving each character of the historical past the results of his actions, both for the benefit of the nations and to their detriment, we are not going to fight at all in hysterics, extolling someone's merits to the divine heaven, or, conversely, showering him with blasphemy, abuse and foul language. We have no desire to politicize history, giving it a boil of momentary political passions and struggles. This is not our method, as Shurik used to say in his famous film mate. To our own history, as well as to the history of neighboring peoples, we in Transdniestria treat with reverence, interest, and respect. And such a bright figure of our historical past, as Karl XII, of course, is no exception.

The Swedish public organization "Association of Friends of the Stockholm War Museum" tried to donate a bust of Karl to Poltava, but the city authorities refused to accept it.

Poltava fellows well done. The Swedes were defeated near Poltava by the Russian troops of Peter I. Why is there a monument to Karl? fool Yushchenko’s desire to serve the Western masters went beyond all reasonable limits.

Hitler lost touch with reality in the second half of the Second World War, before that his ideas were widely recognized in German society (the consequences of the humiliating Treaty of Versailles), and Hitler began expansion only after the construction of roads and the revival of heavy industry. Well, Kar was always "not on his place ", he would command the army and not Sweden.

Looking back - yes, no doubt, but many contemporaries of Hitler did not think so. When planning the attack on the USSR, the Germans did not know very much of what we know now (for example, the existence of T-34 and KV tanks ..) that Hitler (and his comrades-in-arms) were fools, just that the Soviet counterintelligence was more effective than German intelligence. Hitler, unlike Karl, who inherited power, made his way into the country's leadership, for a stupid person this task is simply not real.

And Hitler would never come to power if American capital wasn’t needed,

Do you really think that 8 brave Swedes will not cope with 000 Moscow men? he declared to his circle.
On November 19, 1700, by noon, the Swedes deployed their battle formations before the positions of the Russians besieging Narva. Before the battle, in front of his army, Charles XII got down from his horse, knelt, said a prayer for the gift of victory, embraced the generals and soldiers standing near him, and having kissed them, mounted his horse. At exactly 2 o'clock with shouts:
    - God is with us! - the Swedes rushed to the attack.
The correlation of forces was as follows: Russians - 32, Swedes - 000. At the very beginning of the battle, the center of the Russians was crushed, their erratic retreat, flight began. On the left flank, the Weide division, retreating, began to squeeze the Sheremetev horse militia against the waterfalls. Stormy Narova and its waterfalls swallowed more than 8 riders and horses. On the right flank, Golovin’s division, retreating in panic, rushed to the floating bridge. He could not bear the load and burst. And here the waves of Narova swallowed their victims by the masses. To this the king contemptuously remarked:

And so it is everywhere in rewritten history. Russophobes fucking!

Finally, in 1715, the warlike wandering king returned to Sweden. Once he dreamed of returning with the triumph of the great commander and winner. Then he had reason to say:
“God, my sword and the love of the people are my allies.”
In the end, however, past victories and sacrifices were fruitless. After a 15-year absence, the country met its king ruined, depopulated, without an army, fleet and allies, and lost all its overseas possessions. The plight was aggravated by crop failure and plague. They had to increase taxes, issue copper money - "coins of need".
The king saw a way out of this situation in the creation of a new army and new wars. But by then Sweden was not the same as before, and the king was not the same. On November 30, 1718, Charles XII was killed during the siege of the Norwegian fortress Frederickhall. Where the bullet came from that killed the king, whose she was - either Norwegian, or Swedish - is still unclear.

I was always mildly surprised by such figures as the composer Yevgeny Doga, they can speak and do nasty things to Russia easily and without thinking, but they live and earn money in Russia. I do not like Russians and Russia, there are many places in the world, only the impression is that they are not needed there and nobody will tolerate their statements against the country of arrival, but it is possible with us, it’s nasty thing to say about Russia and Russians how another person did during the war with Georgia, the surname changed to Georgian after the good Georgians killed our peacekeepers in Ossetia. They say that democracy is still not enough for me to see how these people lived and who work in the USA, after public statements against Americans and America. As an option, completely.

The sarcophagus with the coffin of Charles XII stood on a pedestal in the recess, near the altar. They carefully lifted the multi-pood stone lid and opened the coffin. King Charles lay in a heavily faded, semi-decayed camisole and over-the-knee treads. A funeral crown made of sheet gold sparkled on the head. Due to the constant temperature and humidity, the body was well preserved. Even the hair on the temples, once fiery red, and the skin on the face darkened to olive-colored have survived. But everyone present involuntarily shuddered when they saw a terrible penetrating wound in the skull, covered with a cotton swab. On the right temple there was an entrance opening from which black rays diverged deep cracks (the bullet was fired from a short distance and had great lethal force). Instead of the left eye there was a huge wound, where three fingers entered freely ...

After carefully examining the wound, the autopsy professor Friksel gave his opinion, and his words were immediately recorded in the protocol: “His Majesty was shot in the head with a flintlock gun.” This conclusion was sensational. The fact is that in all history textbooks it was argued that King Charles fell, struck by the core.
the weapon from which the Swedish king Karl was killed was suddenly found in Estonia, on the Kaulbars family estate. About this in his notes told 50-year-old Baron Nikolai Kaulbars in 1891. The fitting itself, as a heirloom, has been passed down from generation to generation for 170 years. Regarding the death of the king, Nikolai Kaulbars gave some interesting details. In particular, he wrote: “Consideration of the circumstances in which this happened excludes any possibility of defeating the enemy bullet, and at present there is no doubt that the king was killed by his personal secretary - the Frenchman Siquier (Sigyur)
