Venezuela is creating its own naval base 70 km from Guyana

The situation in South America is becoming increasingly tense due to a territorial dispute between Venezuela and Guyana. Venezuela is increasing its military presence in close proximity to the Guyanese borders.

Currently, the Venezuelan authorities have begun to deploy a naval base seventy kilometers from Guyana. This was announced by the commander of the Venezuelan naval forces, Admiral Neil W. Sanchez.

As noted, construction of the base infrastructure is currently underway. The facility will be located in close proximity to the Guyana-controlled annexed disputed Essequibo region, which is claimed by Venezuela.

Earlier, representatives of the Ministry of Defense of neighboring Brazil admitted the possibility of an invasion of the Venezuelan army into the territory of Guyana across the Atlantic Ocean, using the capabilities of the country's naval forces. It will be much more difficult for the Venezuelan armed forces to carry out a land operation than to carry out their plans through a naval operation.

The creation of a new naval base may indicate precisely such plans by Venezuela. Moreover, the Venezuelan military-political leadership is well aware of the complexity of conducting a ground operation due to the difficult jungle on the border with Guyana. Armored vehicles will not pass through this jungle, and the dense vegetation will negate the very numerical advantage of the Venezuelan ground forces.

Let us recall that currently the number of Venezuelan ground forces is 123 thousand people, while Guyana has only 3 thousand soldiers in the ground units of the country's defense forces.

The President of Venezuela outlined the tasks, and then their achievement. This is where two world poles will collide: the Anglo-Saxons and their opponents. Brazil - we still have to see which side it will be on when the USA and England begin to act. Do not remove the opportunity from the PRC, because the issue echoes the Taiwan issue and opposition to other global pressures from the United States.

This is the right time to involve Spain, with the Malvinas Islands, and Gibraltar. Chile, with the English protege Pinochet, who was sentenced in Chile itself, and England sheltered from execution. If you dig deep enough, there are quite enough problems for large-scale analysis. Down and Out trouble started...

No matter how it turns out that for a liter of oil, you need to shed two liters of blood.
And in general, oil is probably the blood shed in wars.

It was not they who opened it, but the NATO coalition when it tore apart Yugoslavia.

Vladislav! NATO is certainly not a dove of peace, but there is one very important “but”.
Unlike Venezuela, none of the NATO member countries annexed parts of the former SFRY and did not declare such plans... winked

Why do they need to annex these territories, then feed and water them. Politically, loyal parts of Yugoslavia are already in the EEC and NATO. There are military bases on the territory of Kosovo.
          Trite, more sophisticated and subtle.

            That's it!!!
And Venezuela offered its neighbors some better image, a new life, in addition to the fact that it made a “willful” decision to annex the neighboring territory?!

Crazy President Maduro has brought oil-rich Venezuela down
to a level of poverty that is fantastic even by the standards of Latin America.
Guyana is also not Switzerland, but the people are much richer than the Venezuelans.
Saddam Hussein once said the same about Kuwait: “This is our province.”
And he grabbed it without hesitation.
Of course, he was kicked out right away. But they hanged him much later.

I don’t know who is there and what is unfolding, but it seems the degree of tension is beginning to subside:
    RBC, December 10
Negotiations between Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and Guyanese President Irfaan Ali will take place in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on the situation around the disputed province of Essequibo. The meeting is scheduled for December 14. Reuters reports this.

The Office of the President of Guyana confirmed that he had agreed to the meeting. “Guyana’s land border is not subject to discussion,” the office of the head of state emphasized.

      "Guyana's land border is non-negotiable"

It’s not clear what else to discuss. Perhaps the shelf section.
