The espionage scandal itself flared up in Germany after a group of Russian agents in the United States was "merged" by SVR Colonel Alexander Poteev, who in 2010, under the last name Dudochkin, fled Russia to the United States. The espionage scandal in the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany was related to the fact that the German intelligence services allegedly found Russian agents in the country - the Andreas and Haydrun Anshlag family, who were engaged in activities aimed at obtaining materials from the North Atlantic alliance. As soon as the couple, the Anshlag was "lit up" as Russian spies (Alexander and Olga Rost), who entered Germany separately in 1988 and 1990, so the Western press began to exaggerate this topic, writing the most incredible stories about the enormous damage for the Federal Republic of Germany and NATO caused by these unceremonious Russians.
One of such stories is that the omnipresent colonel Poteev-Dudochkin allegedly betrayed a married couple of Anshlag in Germany, who, it turns out, was aware of the presence of literally all agents of Russian foreign intelligence not only in North America, but also in Europe ... German, American, and British newspapers spread their time. However, this was not enough for them, and the epic began in the style of "who surpasses who" in terms of "lighting" the spy scandal with the participation of Russian citizens.
At the moment, in terms of "spitting" each other, obviously, two foreign publications are leading. This is the German magazine "Der Spiegel", as well as the British diary "The Independent". In the latter, in particular, they write about the fact that it was Poteev who gave the Western intelligence services both Anna Chapman and Co. in the United States, as well as agents of Anshlag in the Federal Republic of Germany. At the same time, “The Independent” goes into thoughts on the topic: who could “assist” Soviet intelligence agents who arrived in Germany through the countries of Latin America in the late eighties? Reflections, it must be admitted, do not go far, and only one last name comes to the surface. It is not hard to guess what the last name is ... Well, of course - Putin. Who else? .. And the British journalists are not very embarrassed that at that time Vladimir Putin was, to put it mildly, not the largest figure among the KGB officers who worked in East Germany. Yes, because the main thing is not the point. The main thing is that now the Western reader imbued with this information and realized that Putin had “made plans for the future” 25 years ago, introducing his agents to where certain information could be obtained. As they say, I really felt that I would become the president of the country
Needless to say, as soon as the last name Putin appeared in parallel with the progress of the case, the interest in this whole story soared in the West to unprecedented heights.
The baton of "revelations" intercepted another British edition of "The Guardian". In this newspaper published materials, according to which Russian agents helped expose ... their neighbors. Allegedly, the neighbors of the Anshlag couple, who appeared in Germany as persons of Austrian blood, noticed that Haydrun “suspiciously often” talking on the phone in his garden, even during the cold season ... Besides, the neighbors, according to the same edition, were embarrassed the name itself, which in German means "encroachment" or "attack" ...
You wonder what kind of suspicious neighbors turned out to be to the Russian agents in Germany ... And why didn’t millions of other Germans suspicious of them who could talk on the mobile phone even on the street, even if I'm sorry, in the closet? And why the name “Anschlag” was interpreted precisely as an “encroachment”, although at the same time it has several more completely harmless ones: “assessment”, “estimate”, “poster”. But they interpreted it as required by the espionage sensation, and therefore everything lined up in one row: the Russian espionage network, the Colonel of the SVR, the KGB, Putin, the attack ...
With this logical chain, foreign publications obviously want to show that the entire Western world is now on the verge of a Russian invasion ... "Kozni" of Russia, Kremlin militarism and all that.
In general, the classic horror stories of the Cold War, to which not only many ordinary citizens in the West, but also a number of political figures are so attached. It is for them that this whole play is played out. Indeed, in another way, the process of Russian agents in Germany is difficult to call. It would seem that it’s a banal case of exposing agents (if any) who worked for one of the world's special services ... , spins right now. Now, in order to show the “correct” electorate that Russia is being held in check, and that military expenditures cannot be reduced to continue this kind of containment.
By the way, pay attention: the scandal occurred in Germany, and the British newspapers, who managed to “eat the dog” in speculation about other spy scandals, are zealous mainly. The hype around the death of Litvinenko, polonium and other similar matters in the UK has long become the real anti-Russian multi-part thriller, to which they now also add the Full House with supposedly their access to the secrets of NATO.
If we talk about how the activities of agents of the Full House appear in the West, the situation looks like this: during the years of their “mission”, according to the investigators, they managed to extract a large number of NATO and UN secrets (it turns out that in the UN there are secrets ...) and the EU. In this case, the spouses managed to recruit a Dutch diplomat who needed money and was a frequenter of gambling establishments. This is a Dutch gamer allegedly conveyed a lot of what is called the secrets of Western politics, and only then this terribly secret information was sold out to the Full House in Moscow. Yes, as sent! She (Haydrun) - using a radio transmitter (well, just “Seventeen Moments of Spring” some), and he (Andreas) - using YouTube ... What are all the different methods ...
When the public had questions about how secret information about NATO activities could be transmitted via YouTube, the investigators answered: with the help of comments ... After that, there are thoughts of checking the comments on the Military Review website - one of the German or the British intelligence is now scribbling not just comments on the materials, but reveals the most intimate secrets of the Russian reality ... And we are neither in sleep nor in spirit ...
However, down with the irony! Yes, and what could be the irony, if not yet described how the Anshlag "took." Naturally, in the act. According to the laws of the genre - how else. During the "capture", Haydrun even nadukvali something on his radio ... At least, that's what the German special forces GSG 9 say ...
In general, they took hot ...
But the representatives of the prosecution themselves (despite their early statements that the case is in a hat) now say that it will not be so easy to prove the full-name involvement in the work of the Russian SVR. Here to you - and "in the act." It turns out that the difficulty is that Andreas and Heidrun were already preparing to leave for their homeland, and therefore almost all the "secret materials" had been destroyed. Well, on the radio transmitter, maybe for their own historical pleasure they tapped.
Moreover, the well-known and very successful German attorney by the name of Peechke protects the Spouses Anshlag, and this Peechke has a long track record of winning cases relating to the protection of certain individuals suspected of intelligence activities in Germany.
In general, it now remains for German prosecutors to reread the Anshlag’s comments on YouTube and get ready for an in-person fight with lawyer Pechke ... Well, it’s natural for the British press to continue to look for Putin’s trail ...
