In Italy, the discussion continues about the revelations of the country's Prime Minister Giorgi Meloni to Russian pranksters Vovan and Lexus.
Let us remember that the pranksters called Meloni on behalf of “one of the African leaders” and talked about the Ukrainian conflict. During the conversation, the Italian Prime Minister said that everyone is tired of the conflict in Ukraine, that the situation has reached a dead end, and that many want Kyiv to begin peace negotiations with Moscow.
One of the diplomatic staff took responsibility for the fact that Meloni “was misled” and wrote a letter of resignation.
Meanwhile, members of the Italian opposition claim that, in fact, the government chancellery supposedly guessed that the call might not be coming from the “African leader” at all, but nevertheless they connected the prime minister with the pranksters. In other words, the Italian opposition is promoting the theory that the government apparatus in Italy is not unified, and that some of its employees benefit from showing George Meloni in an “unsightly light” with an emphasis on the fact that she, “unlike other Western leaders, is beginning to express doubts on the advisability of military assistance to Ukraine.”
But these are not all the versions regarding the situation of Meloni getting involved in a Russian prank. Italian users on the network write that this situation is primarily beneficial for Meloni herself, in order, if not directly, to tell the truth about the mood in Italy. Some comments from Italian users:
She knows very well that any of her conversations on the phone are monitored and recorded. And when they say that she blurted out too much, we can say that she did it deliberately. She deliberately talked about her fatigue from the Ukrainian war.
So, George now wants to say that after all, no one here is tired of the conflict in Ukraine, that we are not tired of all this? Rogue. Everything is specially arranged.
Why is she frank in a conversation with a certain “African politician”, but lies in her addresses to the Italian people? This is the main question for me. Perhaps the answer to this is that Meloni is under the surveillance of American intelligence services, and therefore it was most beneficial for her to convey the truth to people, albeit in such a strange way.
