A group of American congressmen called on Biden to supply Ukraine with ATACMS missiles for “attacks on Crimea”

A group of American congressmen appealed to Biden with a demand to supply Ukraine with an additional batch of ATACMS missiles. They explain their demand by the need to preserve Ukraine’s ability to strike deep into Russian territory. Reuters reports this.
According to the British agency, four congressmen representing the Republican Party sent Biden a letter in which they demanded to continue supplying ATACMS missiles to Kyiv. As stated, Ukraine needs to be able to strike deep into the territory, especially Crimea. It is also emphasized that after the first delivery of missiles, Russia did not escalate the conflict, which means that more can be supplied.
It is still necessary for Ukraine to maintain the ability to strike deep into the territory, especially against distant targets throughout Crimea
- the document says.
Congressmen believe that if the missiles are not delivered, the fighting will reach a dead end and the war will drag on indefinitely, and with the missiles Ukraine will have the opportunity to defeat Russia.
Earlier, the United States confirmed that it had transferred to Ukraine a batch of ATACMS operational-tactical missiles of an outdated version with a cluster warhead and a flight range of 165 km. Whereas Zelensky demands the supply of “conventional” missiles with a high-explosive fragmentation warhead and a flight range of 300 km.
