Speaker of the Armed Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Ignat: Ukrainian air defense is “highly effective”, but there is not enough of it for the whole country

Ukrainian air defense has significantly increased its strength and acquired significant experience in countering Russian air attacks, becoming highly effective, but it will not be able to completely cover the entire territory of Ukraine from Russian missiles. This was stated by the speaker of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Yuriy Ignat.

The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is constantly increasing its air defense capabilities, introducing new anti-aircraft systems and creating mobile groups. Western partners provide great assistance in this matter, supplying anti-aircraft systems and ammunition for them. All this affects the effectiveness of air defense, but it will not be possible to create a layered air defense system to cover the entire territory of Ukraine; this requires a large number of air defense systems, and there is nowhere to get them. Ukraine itself produces nothing, and the West does not have the ability to satisfy Kyiv’s needs.

Air defense systems have a certain range of action. From 2 kilometers for small fire groups to 70 kilometers for the S-300. Therefore, we do not have enough funds to completely build a layered air defense system into a wall.

Ignat said.

Ukraine is now awaiting deliveries of F-16 fighters from Western partners, as well as Soviet-made hybrid anti-aircraft systems adapted to Western missiles. All this should help cover the country’s main facilities from Russian missiles and drones. Kiev places special hopes on American aircraft, which will be on combat duty to intercept missiles and drones over small cities, while the main anti-aircraft systems will cover large ones.

The supply by Western partners of modern air defense models, F-16 aircraft, as well as the adaptation of Soviet air defense systems to the use of modern American missiles will significantly increase Ukraine’s air defense capabilities

- added the speaker.

And what is this high-performance bunker-clown enough for?

Ukraine is a huge state in the center of Europe, weapons of destruction have a certain range, therefore “We don’t have enough funds to completely build a layered defense into a wall,” Ignat said.

He added that Western models of air defense systems are inferior to their Soviet counterparts: Iris-T and NASAMS are capable of hitting air targets only at a distance of up to 40 kilometers, while the Soviet S-300 complex, according to Ignat, hits them 70 kilometers away.

      https://topcor.ru/40930-vsu-priznali-nesposobnost-zaschitit-ukrainu-ot-atak-s-vozduha.html

That is, in fact, Iris-T and NASAMS have a damage radius like the Pantsir-SM of 40 km, and the S-300PS has a damage radius like the Buk-M3 of 75 km.
In 2016, the development of a modification of the Pantsir-SM complex was completed, in which, through the use of a newly developed multifunctional aiming station, the target engagement range was increased to 40 km.

And if we take into account that the Ukrainian Armed Forces do not have many S-300PS and missiles for them, and Lancets, Tornado-S and other instruments work on them, then the problem of air defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for protection against the same gliding bombs is obvious, the destruction radius is at the very the first versions of which range from 40 to 80 km. And the UMPC of a new design with FAB-1500 is in the region of 100 km or more.

Where does Pantsir have 40 km?

The Pantsir-SM with AFAR said that the destruction range was 40 km and the detection range was 75 km.

They solved this problem a long time ago - more or less viable air defense sits in the deep rear, Kyiv, Odessa, Starokonstantinov airfield. On the forehead there is a maximum of stormers and wasps, including one per 20 km, and usually only a man with MANPADS, and only if you’re lucky

Well, yes. We can't fly over urine. Our aviation sneaks up, attacks from a pitch-up position with an LBS, and runs back. Therefore, truly effective air defense...

The lives of our pilots are very valuable to us. I want to ask, when did you see a psychic attack in full view? To the drums? Only in the movies. Everyone does the right thing. People and technology are a priority for us.

If technology is a priority for us, then where are there any hangars at airfields?

Not many people have hangars at airfields. Mainly in countries through which you can blow your nose. And not everywhere and not for all types of aircraft

Yes Yes. They watch enough of Zvezda or Ren-TV, then they wonder why we didn’t defeat them in a week. There, on the other side, according to the plot, the losers are sitting...

It is clear that they will not see peace and losses will increase, judging by the ersatz they have begun to be supplied with. Foreign sponsors have already spent too much money and are no longer in a hurry to give them new, modern equipment in commercial quantities... everyone will give up early.

I hope that from tonight we will constantly check the effectiveness of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ air defense while looking for the assembly site of three F16s in Ukraine. (we have something to look for) Let's start with Lvov. Are pilots also included in the kit?

I heard that they were recently supplied with an F-16. Are they disassembled and there are only three of them? I haven't read it yet

They have already made life more fun for the anti-tank crews - I myself heard in the video how the guys, joyfully swearing, shout: “Leopard! Leopard!”
Now drone operators and air defense officers have had fun.
If I had been there, and having listened to Western advertising and Ukrainian hopak about wunderwaffles, I would have gotten excited.

We will hold out with the North Military District as long as they can. What are we trying to achieve, what are the goals of our leadership, and will we be left alone with the problem until it’s too late?

Instead of two hundred S300 installations and hundreds of beech trees, there are now two and a half patriots and three and a half irises. Well, at least residents of high-rise buildings can sleep more peacefully

Together with the pilots? It is simply unrealistic to become a combat pilot in a short period of time.

In the West, pilots who know how to fight in the F16 are a dime a dozen; to pay 10 kilo bucks for a flight - recruiters will have to set up a machine gun from those who want it.

Something tells me that a military pilot will easily find a job somewhere in Emirates or some other airline and will earn more. And with a high probability he will live until retirement. There are few fools among professional pilots

This is where a combination of a 5th generation fighter with a hunter would be very useful

What, they don’t have electricity, there are queues at gas stations, food is on cards, the Internet is down, the TV doesn’t work? All of the above is available, which means someone doesn’t want it, and now most likely cannot do it the way the striped ones did in Iraq or Libya. There was a master class on how to destroy air defenses. You can downvote, but after almost 2 years they have the opportunity to transfer reserves, fuel for equipment, and equipment via railways. adaptation of Soviet air defense systems to the use of modern American missiles
All this is designed for suckers, it doesn’t work like that. It’s one thing when a Su-24 with a modified beam (just a carrier) for NATO ammunition is stupidly launched with a separate button, which is then guided along a satellite, or an analogue of AWACS, and quite another complexes Air defense. That's why they complexes, because everything there is interconnected into a single system according to certain standards. And here it turns out that the launchers are separate, the missiles are separate (some kind of left), the guidance radars are probably the same separately, in short, a hodgepodge, a do-it-yourself constructor. I repeat, air defense doesn’t work like that, all this chatter is for internal Ukrainian consumption, like “everything is fine, they haven’t forgotten us, they’re giving us everything.”

The whole country is not interesting to ragulians. The main thing for them is that their farm is protected by all air defense.
