The Chief of the General Staff of the Israeli Army announced the need for a ground operation in Gaza to achieve its goals

The military objectives set by the Israeli leadership require a ground operation in the Gaza Strip. This statement was made by the Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi.
As the IDF chief of staff noted, Israeli ground forces are already carrying out an “important and complex” military operation. Halevi stressed that there is now no other way to destroy Hamas other than by invading territory controlled by the movement and using military force there.
Thus, the invasion of the Palestinian enclave by Israeli ground forces will still take place. Previous raids were probably in the nature of reconnaissance and preparatory operations, and the Israeli command is still preparing a larger operation.
Considering that it will be carried out by reservists, then they need to carefully prepare for subsequent military operations in the territory of the Palestinian enclave. Moreover, the authorities are very afraid of large losses in army personnel.
In addition, the Israeli leadership is studying the world reaction to what is happening. Despite the fact that many countries have expressed their sharp rejection of the actions of the Israeli side, and the Islamic world has attacked Tel Aviv with accusations and criticism, even the Arab countries are not taking practical action, and this is against the backdrop of massive bombing of Gaza.
Accordingly, the Israeli authorities may decide that there will still be no escalation and scaling of the conflict with the involvement of new participants, and then they will act in the Gaza Strip even more boldly, including deciding on a full-fledged deployment of ground forces.
