Over the past week, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have been repelling enemy attacks and striking places where troops, military equipment and weapons of Ukrainian formations are concentrated. This follows from the traditional report of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
As the military department notes, in the Kupyansk direction, from October 14 to 20, the Russian Armed Forces repelled 61 enemy counterattacks and defeated the personnel and military equipment of seven brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Over the course of a week, Ukrainian formations lost more than 995 military personnel in the Kupyansk direction, 10 tanks, 27 armored vehicles and 18 artillery pieces, 20 vehicles.
Things were not going well for the Ukrainian Armed Forces and in the Krasnolimansk direction. Here, Russian troops repelled 18 attacks by three brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with artillery fire, including the 63rd and 67th mechanized brigades, and the 12th special forces brigade. The total losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in this direction amounted to more than 940 military personnel, 2 tanks, 21 armored vehicles, 14 vehicles, 5 artillery pieces.
The most active fighting in the Donetsk direction continued to take place in three areas - Avdeevsky, Artemovsky and Maryinsky. Here the Russian Armed Forces inflicted defeats and repelled attacks by assault groups of Ukrainian Armed Forces brigades near Andreevka, Kleshcheevka, Kurdyumovka, and in Marinka itself. The losses of the Ukrainian formations here amounted to more than 2065 people, 4 tanks, 14 armored vehicles, 27 cars and 28 artillery pieces, and 5 warehouses with ammunition and military equipment were also hit.
The Russian army continued to repel enemy attacks in the South Donetsk direction. Here the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 1010 military personnel, 9 armored vehicles, 19 vehicles, 8 artillery pieces and 1 MLRS.
The intensity of fighting in the Zaporozhye direction decreased, but Russian troops still had to repel 10 enemy attacks near the villages of Rabotino and Verbovoye. The losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces here amounted to more than 475 people, 11 tanks, 22 armored vehicles, 18 vehicles and 14 artillery pieces.
The activation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was observed last week in the Kherson direction. Here, Russian troops repelled attempts by the 36th and 38th Marine Brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to seize bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnieper. The losses of enemy troops in the Kherson region amounted to 345 military personnel, 11 artillery pieces, 48 boats and 38 vehicles.
Thus, the total losses of Ukrainian forces for the period from October 14 to October 20, 2023, according to information from the military department’s report, amounted to more than 5 military personnel. In addition, the Ukrainian army lost 830 tanks.
