The Polish press called the TOS-2 Tosochka flamethrower systems a serious threat to Ukrainian forces

The use of the new heavy flamethrower system TOS-2 “Tosochka” by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation during a special military operation in Ukraine leads to bad consequences for the Ukrainian troops. The Polish publication Interia writes about this.

The fact that TOS-2 “Tosochka” appeared in the special operation zone became known at the end of spring 2022. However, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation officially announced the first use of the system only the other day, on October 17.

Salvo from this weapons capable of inflicting monstrous damage in a matter of seconds and destroying anyone within its radius of action

- writes the Polish edition.

What frightens the Polish press most of all is the TOS-2's ability to fire thermobaric ammunition, which creates a shock wave that can penetrate inside buildings and destroy anyone who tries to take refuge there. Polish authors call TOS-2 itself even more dangerous than TOS-1. The car can reach speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour, its cabin has become armored.

TOS-2 poses a serious threat to the Ukrainian Armed Forces

- writes the Polish edition.

Let us recall that TOS-2 “Tosochka” has improved tactical and technical characteristics compared to TOS-1 “Buratino” and TOS-1A “Solntsepek”. The complex itself operates on the wheeled chassis of a Ural truck, the fire control systems are automated, and the firing range is increased. The flamethrower system is also equipped with a crane-manipulator, which frees it from dependence on the transport-loading machine.

It's true. But they write there, like the temperature is 3 thousand degrees, even on the channel the stars are screaming. Like a vacuum and all that.
The temperature at the moment of the aerosol explosion is 1200-1300 degrees... no vacuum is formed there. Tosa and Solntsepeka generally have different mixtures. The main property besides temperature... is that the shock wave overlaps each other and “flows,” so to speak, into the shelters. You can only escape like Diogenes - in a barrel

Against lightly armed infantry entrenched in a village, that’s all, but in the North Military District the enemy will be more serious and cosplaying artillery from a distance of 5-10 kilometers is a very risky business.

The losses of the Russian Armed Forces in PR should surpass the number of killed Palestinians! Competition, jealousy, struggle for the master's love...

TOS has a problem - a relatively short range. Therefore, they need to get very close to the front end, which is dangerous.
During the Second World War, my relative, a radio operator, aimed Katyusha shells, which were simply mounted on wooden flooring. Adjusted with wedges under the boards.)))
Maybe now we can design separate barrels for TOS and turrets for them?
Maybe it will be easier and more invisible to drag them to the front?
The weight of the projectile is under 200 kg.
    Prototype - 9P132 "Grad-P" ("Partizan").

Today they showed the Donbass militias, they are shooting from some kind of RS pipe from Grad, which did not explode when they fell, I’m in awe, not only did they build the launchers themselves, they also use RS, which can explode in their hands, but they are fine, they burn

RZSO usually have rather lousy accuracy, which is compensated by the weight of the salvo. Accordingly, shooting at one missile is like that. In WWII, this was actually practiced, but usually against large targets (such as a house) and from a fairly close distance (across the street).
Well, Grad-P is more for saboteurs. They supplied it to the Vietnamese, but they didn’t really need it themselves.

It seems that for the TOSochka they made charges flying up to 15-25 km ... and for old ones they can also be used

If the range has been greatly increased, it means the weight of the warhead has been reduced by the same amount. Moreover, the accuracy is not so great. That's a solution. It’s easier to use Hurricane with thermobaric rockets

Yes, the caliber is the same, but the charge is different, more powerful. I have a neighbor in the Northern Military District, operator gunner Solntepek. I was on vacation and said that they tried to stick shells from Tosochka in Solntepek for testing. So during the launch they burned through their gas tanks (or something like that - I’m not an expert in armored vehicles, I’m saying what I heard from him)

been saying this for ages, the system needs to..walk forwards.. when the 1st salvo used, another is used just beyond the firsts damage area,
this way, there will be no heavy fighting between RU and ukelele nazis, as all nazis will be dead
carry on walking right up, chasing the nazi,s till there no ukelele,s left to fight back
cannot see why RU troops need to be killed in a fire fight, rocket , artillery attack, when there is a way to stop thee,s attacks

ps, the resident nazis will be giving the minuses, [-] out by the bucket load when reading this.
