The UK included the Terrahawk Paladin stationary anti-aircraft gun for destroying drones in a new package of military assistance to Kyiv

The UK will supply Ukraine with Terrahawk Paladin stationary anti-aircraft systems; the British government announced the shipment of anti-aircraft systems. This was reported on the official website of the Cabinet of Ministers of the United Kingdom.

Britain intends to help Ukraine in the fight against Russian drones, for this purpose, the new package of military assistance that London is preparing will include the Terrahawk Paladin stationary anti-aircraft gun manufactured by the British company MSI Defense Systems. Judging by the message, in a single copy. Previously, the British had already stated that this memory would be used in the “Ukrainian conflict.”

Today I am proud to announce that the UK, together with our allies, is delivering on that promise by securing new contracts to supply Ukraine with critical air defense systems (...) and pledging to provide over £100 million worth of new equipment to Ukrainian soldiers to give them everything you need to break through Russia's deadly minefields

- said British Defense Minister Grant Shapps.

The Terrahawk Paladin anti-aircraft gun is designed to combat drones, it is completely autonomous and does not require third-party target designation, since it has its own all-round radar for detecting subtle targets. In addition, the installation has an optical system for searching and acquiring targets with a day and night channel, ensuring their destruction in any weather.

The Terrahawk Paladin is armed with an automatic cannon; the caliber is chosen by the customer. At the DSEI 2023 exhibition, held in September in London, this anti-aircraft system was presented with a 20-mm Gatling gun capable of hitting targets at a range of 1-1,5 km. It is also possible to install a 30 mm Mark 44 Bushmaster II cannon.

The system has its own generator, which ensures the operation of the equipment. The operator of an anti-aircraft gun can control it remotely, even from an unprepared location.

How many of these machine guns are needed to at least protect the port of Reni?

For the residents of Naglich it is important to test the installation in combat conditions, and the port or any other object does not bother them at all.

With a firing range of a kilometer, it may never encounter a single geranium, it will whistle one and a half kilometers behind the trees and that’s it

I would say “broader” - but what, in general, is the point of this prodigy?))) All this can be mounted on a tracked or wheeled chassis and moved under its own power. And so, you need a trawl, you need a crane, it takes time to move this solid thing 200 meters to the side.

Judging by the fact that it is stationary, it will be located somewhere in the vicinity of Kyiv or Odessa. Therefore, you need to detect it using electronic reconnaissance means or from space, and then calibrate it. Although, I think the dill will attach wheels to it, otherwise it’s a disposable piece of crap.

And try to approach from 2-3 sides at low altitude simultaneously with small drones. It won’t all come off at once.

I would attribute this thing not to air defense, but somewhere to the border troops. That is, in peacetime, stand calmly. For months, years - so that at “hour X” it works normally once.
And in what form it is now - you said everything correctly.

In this case, Thor is much better. It has a much longer firing range and is self-propelled. And in terms of cross-country ability there is even nothing to compare.

How will she go bankrupt if the West pays for everything?

Stop looking at everything arrogantly. Such systems are the future. When they fall into our Shell, we lose equipment and people, and when they fall into such systems, then only equipment that a country with a powerful economy can produce in the thousands.

If now this system proves its effectiveness, then tomorrow there will be hundreds of them in Ukraine.

The West gives loans, which people from the outskirts will then ask for. This is the first thing. Secondly, I never look at things arrogantly. There's a smiley face at the end of the sentence. Because this thing is extremely expensive to use.
And if it is intended to fight drones, copters, etc., then it almost literally turns out to be a cannon at sparrows.

Right at once?! Did they destroy a lot?!

Stationary - this means cheap, and equal in power to an infantry fighting vehicle.

Remotely controlled - this means that the crew is at much less risk of dying and will act much more efficiently.

Such systems are the future. And fortified areas equipped with such systems will be impregnable.

On the front line, such a system has a lifetime before the first projectile, so don’t write nonsense. Will maintenance also be carried out remotely? Limited sectors of fire and standard vulnerability from landing from above do not make it a prodigy from the word “at all.” Installation on a swaying trailer will damage efficiency by reducing accuracy, and then what about the calculation? Run after? Travel by other transport? Or forget about distance? lol

How many shell hits can an infantryman, infantry fighting vehicle, air defense system or tank withstand? A hundred?

The Ukrainian Armed Forces made the Stugna ATGM based on the same principle, and there were many wise men who mocked such a decision, but in practice, this ATGM drank a lot of blood, destroying not only infantry and equipment, but also helicopters.

Why didn't you hit these ATGMs with a howitzer? Where are your shells?

This system will naturally be both camouflaged and strengthened in engineering terms. Look how many resources are spent to occupy one stronghold with an enemy squad. Now imagine such systems that can suddenly start working on our pesot and ambush technology. Or hundreds of such systems operating as object-based air defense. This system is capable of nullifying the effectiveness of our Geranium and Orlan type UAVs. Moreover, even women, whom the Armed Forces of Ukraine are also going to mobilize, will be able to manage it.

Do you have evidence of Stugna's invulnerability? wassat
I’m afraid that after a defeat from a howitzer, there is little left both from the stugna itself and from the crew in order to figure out what the shell hit there. Yes, and comparing anti-tank missiles with this dinosaur seems completely stupid. You will also state that a pistol is the most invulnerable weapon, since there is no evidence of its damage after being hit by a shell from a tank. wassat
This system will naturally be camouflaged

Well, if all she does is camouflage herself, then why is she needed at all? Since as soon as it starts working, it will immediately be unmasked for observation from a distance of 1,5+ km. fool

We would like to have such a setup as a series. It can be used not only as a chenite weapon, but also as a remotely controlled bunker. Such a system will be able to knock out infantry fighting vehicles and destroy infantry.

At the same time, it will clearly be cheaper than a conventional infantry fighting vehicle or armored personnel carrier.

Why is that? Your own generator, platform, remote control, gun, optical target tracking system, and you also want to put it on wheels, where in this set is the word cheap? And how do you even know its price in order to compare it with an infantry fighting vehicle or armored personnel carrier?
