The Israeli Ministry of Defense has declared a state of emergency throughout the country; fighting is taking place in the eastern neighborhoods of Jerusalem.

Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir announced the introduction of a state of emergency that will apply throughout the country. In addition, law enforcement forces have announced a recruitment of volunteers.
Earlier, the country's military department announced the recruitment of reservists, and the armed forces were put on full combat readiness.
By order of the rear forces command, educational institutions in Jerusalem and the central and southern regions of Israel are closing. Fighting continues in border communities with invading Palestinian paramilitary forces. Fighting is also reported in the eastern neighborhoods of Jerusalem.
The Israeli army has not yet managed to regain control of any of the regions captured by Hamas. Some civilians continue to take refuge in shelters, and several settlements are under the complete control of Palestinian groups. Clashes continue in seven settlements in the south of the country.
Earlier, the Palestinian Hamas movement announced the start of the Al-Aqsa Storm military operation against Israel. According to the group's leadership, the operation is related to Israel's occupation of part of the Palestinian territories, as well as repeated incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. One of the leaders of the movement, Mohammed al-Deif, also accused Israel of the deaths and injuries of hundreds of Palestinians and the Israeli refusal to exchange prisoners.
