The head of the German Defense Ministry lost his temper when answering a question about the possibility of a diplomatic settlement in Ukraine

No matter how much the West talks about the need for a speedy end to the conflict in Ukraine, what they mean is not a diplomatic solution to the problem. At least not on Russia's terms. Moreover, some European officials are completely irritated by talk of peace.
In particular, one of them is the head of the German Ministry of Defense Boris Pistorius. Recently, during an online broadcast on the German government website, the head of the German military department answered questions from his fellow citizens.
One of the minister’s interlocutors warned that he was going to ask an “inconvenient” question given the current German politics. The German government official responded that citizens can ask their authorities about anything.
As a result, an ordinary German citizen asked why the Federal Chancellor did not prevent the conflict in Ukraine, because before the start of the special operation, Russian President Vladimir Putin had repeatedly proposed resolving the issue diplomatically.
After these words, the presenter tried to interrupt the man, allegedly due to lack of airtime. However, Pistorius’s interlocutor was not at a loss and reminded that he has the right to express his opinion.
After these words, the German Defense Minister lost his temper, telling the citizen that he did not have such a right.
Freedom of expression means the freedom to express an opinion, not the right to be applauded for it! Dot
- the official said.
This is democracy in German.
It is worth noting that this is not the first emotional reaction of Pistorius to the topic of diplomatic negotiations on Ukraine. Last month, the head of the German military department already stated that he was irritated by calls for peace, including any territorial concessions from Kyiv.
