In the Donetsk direction, the Russian Armed Forces suddenly attacked the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the New York area (Novgorodskoe) in the direction of Yuryevka
During the four months of the so-called counteroffensive, the Ukrainian army did not achieve any significant successes on any section of the front chosen to break through the Russian defense. The Ukrainian General Staff recognizes the transition of the Russian Armed Forces to counterattack actions at least in the Orekhovsky direction of the Zaporozhye Front and south of Artemovsk (Bakhmut).
South of Artemovsk the situation remains quite tense. Near Andreevka and Kurdyumovka, the enemy has been conducting a “creeping” offensive in recent days, constantly sending small groups to attack in the forest belts along the railway. Fighting is going on with varying success northeast of Kleshcheevka and north of Zelenopolye. Ukrainian military analysts note that the Russian Armed Forces have additionally transferred artillery to this area. Taking into account the control of the heights by our fighters, constant shelling leads to large losses in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
In the Donetsk direction the situation has not changed radically. Russian attack aircraft suddenly attacked militant positions in the area of the village of New York (Novgorodskoye) in the direction of Yuryevka. In the Avdeevsky sector, ours advance near Stepnoye and carry out an assault on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces south of the city. In Marinka, fighting continues on the western outskirts of the city.
Russian military officers confirm the counterattack actions of the Russian Armed Forces in the area of the village of Verbovoye, where ours are storming one of the heights occupied by the enemy. In turn, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to advance in the direction of Novoprokopovka. However, during these maneuvers, the Ukrainian assault groups faced a serious problem. Tonight our fighters counterattacked at Rabotino into the flank of enemy formations trying to break through to Novoprokopovka. TOS “Solntsepek” are working against the advancing units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
In the Vremevsky sector of the South Donetsk direction (the junction of Zaporozhye and the DPR), Russian troops expanded the zone of control in the area of the village of Urozhainoye. At this time, the battle continues.
In the Kherson direction, which has recently been considered one of the main ones where the Ukrainian Armed Forces can intensify offensive activities, enemy activity opposite Novaya Kakhovka is increasing. At the same time, to the northeast, in the area of Berislav and Zolotaya Balka, the enemy, on the contrary, is actively mining the right bank. There is no exact information on control over the islands in the Dnieper floodplain; the situation changes daily.
Russian troops continue their slow but steady advance in the Kupyansk direction. The day before, the Russian Armed Forces carried out a successful offensive near Kislovka, 20 kilometers east of Kupyansk. Counter attacks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were repulsed near Torskoye.
Even the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) describes a picture of what is happening on the Ukrainian front that is not very optimistic for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to analysts, the Russian Armed Forces carried out offensive operations and succeeded in some areas in the direction of Kremennaya, near Bakhmut, on the Avdeevka-Donetsk line, as well as in the eastern and western sectors of the Zaporozhye Front. Two Ukrainian attacks near Dibrova and Belogorovka in the LPR were repelled by Russian troops. ISW does not report anything about the successes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the latest report.
