A volunteer battalion "Caspian" is being formed in Dagestan to participate in a special operation

A volunteer battalion "Caspian" is being formed in Dagestan, which will take part in a special operation in Ukraine. This was reported by the head of the republic Sergei Melikov.
According to Melikov, the formation of a volunteer unit is being carried out on the initiative of a number of public associations. He also noted that in a difficult period for the country, when Russia is forced to defend its sovereignty in confrontation with rising Nazism, encouraged by the collective West, Dagestanis are contributing to the victory: some heroically take part in a special operation in Ukraine, others collect and send humanitarian aid , thereby helping the common cause.
- Melikov emphasized.
He also added that volunteer squads and battalions are currently being created throughout the country, and also expressed confidence that the fighters of the Caspian volunteer battalion formed in Dagestan will become an example of true patriotism and will selflessly serve the Motherland.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin reported that since the beginning of this year, more than 300 thousand volunteers have already signed contracts with the Russian Defense Ministry to participate in a special operation in Ukraine. Every day 1-1,5 thousand people enlist in the RF Armed Forces.
The head of state also signed a decree according to which military pensioners participating in the Military Military District are entitled to compensation for pensions and social benefits in the amount of 100%, for which the necessary funds will be allocated monthly.
