There is further evidence that mercenaries from NATO countries are fighting on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the combat zone. Moreover, often these are not simple mercenaries, but so-called “vacationers” - career military personnel of the armies of the countries of the Western military bloc.
Information Service RIA News publishes the testimony of a Russian soldier participating in battles in the Orekhovsky direction in the Zaporozhye region. The serviceman has the call sign “Legend”.
According to him, the army intelligence unit of the Russian Armed Forces knocked out a Leopard tank with the help of an ATGM. After striking tank, a group of Russian intelligence officers advanced towards this tank with the task of “taking the tongue.” When they gained access to the interior of the tank, the surviving driver began shouting in German “Don’t shoot” (“Nicht shissen”).
“Legend” noted that the remaining crew members were killed, and the wounded driver repeatedly stated that he was not just a “volunteer” or a mercenary, but a member of the Bundeswehr and therefore had a special status.
The material claims that the German soldier received medical assistance, he reported the location of his brigade and that the entire crew of the tank was made up of Bundeswehr soldiers.
Military Review can currently neither confirm nor deny this information. To date, the official channels of the Russian Ministry of Defense have not published any video materials with a captured German soldier. In this regard, it is worth waiting for the appearance of such footage and more detailed information about the crew of the Leopard, which was shot down in the Zaporozhye region.
