Famous veteran Alesha was awarded the order in 68 years
The Order has been looking for its 68 hero for years. Combat feat in the battle for Krivoy Rog reconnaissance Skurlatov committed 1944 in January: having been wounded, Alexey did not leave the battlefield, continuing to fire at the enemy. Red Star, the second in a row, veteran is awarded 2012 in December. She was discovered thanks to Tamara Dmitrienko: studying the military archives, a journalist from Barnaul noticed that there were documents for the award, but Skurlatov still does not have the medal itself.
"How many times she called in different instances, requested, hurried. Let, I say, live to this order. And he lived, I am very glad!" - says Tamara.
After the war, Aleksey Ivanovich modestly lived in his native Altai village Nalobikha. However, the events in Bulgaria, where the Siberian intelligence officer once fought, made him famous. Bulgarian soldier Metodi Vitanov, Skurlatov’s friend, spoke about the “Russian Alesha” to sculptors. An 17-meter monument appeared in Plovdiv, and hundreds of letters began to arrive in the Altai village of Skurlatov.
“I responded to each letter. But now I can’t - my hands do not work,” the veteran says.
In his native village now there is a school named after Alexey Skurlatov and a museum of a famous countryman. The popular Bulgarian singer Biser Kirov specially came to Altai to get acquainted with "Russian Alyosha".
The song with which Kirov performed with great success on central television in Nalobikh has long become a feast. They sang it now, after giving the Red Star. The order found through the archives was a kind of present to the veteran - this year Alexey Skurlatov turned 90 years.
