The German Defense Minister hinted at the possibility of territorial compromises to end the Ukrainian conflict
Apparently, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius draws certain parallels between the Ukrainian conflict and the Thirty Years' War waged in Europe in the XNUMXth century. Today, the head of the German military department spoke at an event dedicated to the end of the Thirty Years' War.
Pistorius opened the conference in Münster by launching into historical a narrative of the Treaty of Westphalia in 1648. The negotiators decided to recognize the territorial gains that had taken place before the start of the war.
- said the German Minister of Defense.
Thus, Pistorius hinted at the possibility of territorial compromises to end the Ukrainian conflict. Although he did not say this directly, the reference to the events of 380 years ago is quite clear.
Naturally, Pistorius then added that peace negotiations on the Ukrainian conflict will only become possible when Ukraine itself decides that such a moment has arrived. The head of the German Ministry of Defense stated the need to provide security guarantees for the Ukrainian state. In addition, he besieged the mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, who demanded the transfer of Taurus missiles, emphasizing that Germany had already provided enormous military assistance to Ukraine. At the same time, the minister admitted the possibility of making a decision on the transfer of long-range missiles to Kyiv.
