Russian Defense Ministry: Air defense shot down a Ukrainian UAV over the Belgorod region

Another Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle was shot down in the sky over the Belgorod region today. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports this.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the drone was shot down by air defense systems of the Russian Armed Forces. It was an aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicle. Such Drones Ukraine often uses it both for reconnaissance and for striking military and civilian targets.

Ukrainian formations regularly attack the territories of the border regions of the Russian Federation, including with the help drones. Governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov today reported on his Telegram channel about the shelling of the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka. This settlement is regularly subjected to artillery shelling and attacks by drones of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. By luck, this time there were no casualties, but the outbuilding was damaged.

Let us recall that earlier in the Russian Armed Forces special units were created to combat unmanned aerial vehicles. They are armed with Mi-28N helicopters. There are already examples of the successful use of new units against Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles aviation, including in the Oryol region, where a helicopter destroyed a drone launched by the enemy.
