British press: Polish authorities strengthen the defense of the eastern borders, sending a signal to Russia
In recent months, Poland has been intensively strengthening the defense of its eastern borders, sending additional military contingents there, building fortifications and improving the air defense system. This is written by the British edition of The Express.
According to the Western press, the Polish authorities, including the ruling Law and Justice party in the country, pay special attention to the defense of the country's eastern borders. This is due to the growing risks of instability, including on the border with Belarus.
According to the publication, Poland is considering the option of acquiring additional Patriot missile defense systems, at least in the amount of six batteries. In this way, Warsaw expects to strengthen its air and missile defense in case of "unforeseen circumstances."
In addition, the Polish military is reinforcing defenses along the border. Not only police reinforcements were deployed to the border with Belarus to fight illegal migrants, but also military units. Especially Warsaw's fears regarding the further situation on the border intensified after the transfer of part of the Wagner PMC fighters to Belarus.
The British press claims that the strengthening of the border by Poland and the strengthening of air defense and missile defense is a kind of signal to Russia about the inadmissibility of "hostile" actions.
