Hangars for French Mirage 2000 fighters, capable of protecting aircraft from drone attacks, were captured in the frame

Footage has been published on the network showing hangars protecting French Mirage 2000 fighters from external influences. Such structures are theoretically capable of protecting equipment from alleged attacks drones.

At the same time, the General Staff of the Russian Defense Ministry, in order to protect the Tu-95MS and Tu-160 strategic bombers based at the military airfield in Engels, instead of building any protective structures, preferred to order the planes to be covered with automobile tires. According to experts, the cost of building hangars for aircraft is incommensurably lower than the potential damage in case of damage or destruction of an aircraft worth 4 billion rubles.

By no means in all cases is it worth adopting the experience of the "progressive West", but in some cases, including this one, the construction of hangars or other protective structures at military airfields is a critical necessity.

The Kiev regime, against which a special military operation is currently being carried out in Ukraine, with the help of its Western handlers, constantly carries out terrorist attacks on targets in Russia. With the help of drones, military airfields in the Crimea, Engels and the Pskov region were attacked, as a result of which some of the aircraft based there were damaged.

The installation of protective hangars could, to one degree or another, protect the planes, which are one of the priority targets of Ukrainian terrorists.

I saw old Soviet photos of hangars for military aviation, where a concrete cap with a thickness of at least half a meter was covered with sand and earth up to 1,5-2 meters on top. Such protection even now could well save cars from all sorts of shock UAVs ...

Actually, it's rain protection. And from the sun.
And so any drone will fly from the end, even if it has only 100 grams of explosives - the engine turbine will be enough.

Since only organizations that are particularly close to the generals can do this, I would not be surprised that they drew up such an estimate that it would be cheaper to supply a dozen shells and a couple of S400s to each airfield, and there would still be some left to finalize the air defense derivation

Reminds me of a hangar from Wikipedia about SDB bombs.
Let's add carriers, call them potential.
The accuracy of the hit is 5 ... 8 meters (up to 1 meter for the modification of SDB II).
Guidance system - inertial, satellite (in the SDB II version also infrared and active radar).
The object of destruction is with precisely known coordinates (in the SDB II version, also mobile targets).
          GBU-39/B Dimensions: (L x W): 70,8" x 7,5" (1,8 m x 19 cm)

Hundreds and thousands of such fake concrete caps can be set up using a tractor and painted gates; they cannot be distinguished from a satellite. They don’t rivet that many missiles

The satellite is equipped with a synthetic aperture radar (SAR). Unlike optical, SAR Earth observation allows you to see through the clouds in all weather conditions and even at night.
Capella Space intends to increase the spatial resolution of third generation satellites to 0,3 m per pixel, compared to second generation satellites with a spatial resolution of 0,5 m per pixel.
The satellite sends a 9,65 GHz radio signal towards the target, and then collects and interprets the data that is reflected back into orbit.

These are more like temporary hangars. For example, the French used exactly the same ones for their aircraft in the part of N'Djamena International Airport in Chad reserved for them.

The French deployed their military aircraft in Chad back in 1983, after persistent appeals from the leadership of this country and in order to protect it from Libyan aviation.

A short report from 2017 from the Mirage location with exactly the same hangars in the video at the link (https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5h6a3k).

There is a good metal of 3 mm probably. Rust almost did not take it for many years. These were Soviet ones. Can be done in 2 layers. It probably won’t protect from 20 kg, but it will save you from direct hits, only a small number of fragments will be able to pass. And not every drone has 20 kg of explosives. Such a hangar is assembled in a few hours. But all this should have been done a year ago. We don't need someone else's rake, give us your own...

But if you open the site itself, then there is nothing about tires (?), There is a message about the consequences of a drone strike on an air base in the Novgorod region, where a Tu-22M3 supersonic bomber burned down.

What is it like, is it worth believing all these "Military informants"? If you seriously think about it, then as soon as such protection does not aggravate the situation of the "protected aircraft" from burning tires in case of arrival.

Quite a suitable design, but taking into account the fact that the last two cases were DRGs (as was the case with the A50 in Belarus), it is necessary to make a gate and a back wall. And so it is, everything for this is available on the territory of the Russian Federation. This is a completely commercial hangar; it can be done in plus or minus a week. But it is not suitable for 4-engine aircraft.

There's a double-edged sword here. It’s possible to make a shelter from light drones and it’s not even too expensive per storage unit. But you need a lot of such shelters at different airfields in order to be able to regularly move aircraft from point to point. And this is completely different money. If planes are stored in one place for a long time, then something heavy will definitely arrive, and possibly with special equipment. Warhead The photo shows something absolutely surreal, when the shelters are closely adjacent to each other - this is 2 missile and at least 1 aircraft at once.
