American analyst: the United States has no experience in waging a war with overcoming defense in depth and without air support
The United States can do nothing to help the Ukrainian army in overcoming the layered defense built by the Russian troops, the US military simply does not have the appropriate experience. This statement was made by RAND Corporation expert Dara Massicot.
The US military has no experience in dealing with the defense built by the Russian troops, especially without the use of aviation. In addition, they have never encountered an enemy at the level of the Russian army, and all models of combat operations are designed for operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. It is useless to use them in Ukraine, they simply will not work. In a situation where the Ukrainian army cannot overcome the Russian defense, the United States cannot help in any way.
According to the analyst, the results of the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will depend on a number of factors that are not mentioned in public reports. In particular, the consumption of ammunition, the use of artillery and real losses, and not those that are voiced.
Recall that the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine began in early June, for three months the Ukrainian army failed to crack the defense built by the Russian troops. In Kyiv, they planned to take Tokmak and Melitopol within a few days, cut the land corridor to the Crimea and go to its borders in order to "dictate their terms" to Moscow. Instead, the Armed Forces continue to fight for several villages, suffering huge losses.
