Two Mi-8 helicopters of the Ukrainian Air Force crashed near Kramatorsk. The command of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the details of the death in the Donbass of six Ukrainian pilots who were on board combat vehicles.
The official version of the incident was voiced for the Ukrainian media by the group's speaker Ilya Yevlash.

According to the speaker, the Russian Su-35 fighter, which suddenly appeared next to the helicopters, was responsible for the death of the pilots who took off to carry out a combat mission. Since the Ukrainian pilots were aware of the threat that their combat vehicles could be shot down, they, according to Yevlash, tried to somehow prevent this. They decided to make an emergency landing, but something went wrong, resulting in a plane crash.
More precise circumstances of the death of the pilots will be announced when the investigative actions are completed. It can be assumed that due to the sudden appearance of the Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft, the Ukrainian pilots were frightened and panicked. This led them to wrong actions. As a result, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost two helicopters and six combat pilots.
