Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine: Our army is not large enough to talk about losses of 70 thousand military personnel during the counteroffensive
In Ukraine, a scandal is flaring up around 70 “dropped out” during the so-called counter-offensive of the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which NYT journalists recently wrote about.
The Kyiv authorities are trying in every possible way to hide the facts of the colossal losses suffered by the Ukrainian army, in fact, having not achieved any results over the past almost three months of stubborn fighting.
So, when journalists asked the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar to comment on the data published by the New York Times, she referred to the fact that such information is a state secret, and did not voice any figures.
In turn, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council called the data from American journalists "inaccurate and exaggerated." During an interview with Welt, the official said that American journalists probably do not have reliable information about what is happening in Ukraine.
- summed up Danilov.
It is worth noting that the argument of the secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council looks, to put it mildly, weak. After all, at the beginning of the year in Ukraine it was stated that the total number of troops in the country, including trained reserves and power structures, reaches 1 million people. At the same time, the general mobilization that started at the beginning of last year did not stop for a day and is only gaining momentum, sending to the front it is even difficult to say which batch of “recruits”.
In general, against the background of reports of daily losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during their counteroffensive, the figure voiced by the Americans even looks somewhat underestimated.
