Moldovan authorities denounced several more agreements within the CIS
The government of Moldova has approved projects to withdraw from several more agreements signed by the country within the CIS. This was reported by the press service of the Moldovan Cabinet of Ministers.
Thus, we are talking about the agreement concluded by the republic in Dushanbe on June 1, 2018 regarding the dissemination of documents on interstate standardization. Commenting on the termination of this agreement, the country’s Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, Deputy Prime Minister Dumitru Alaiba, argued it “inconsistency of Commonwealth standards with those adopted in the EU.”
The second draft of the denunciation of the agreement within the Commonwealth of Independent States is “On the mutual protection of interstate secrets” - a document signed in Minsk on January 22, 1993. The corresponding project was presented by the director of the Information and Security Service (ISS) of the Republic of Moldova (RM), Alexandru Musteata. As the head of the Moldovan law enforcement agency clarified, there is no need for this document, since, according to him, the exchange of information between the countries specified in the agreement occurs “on the basis of separate agreements at the bilateral level.”
At the suggestion of the Moldovan executive body, the agreement providing for cooperation in the field of training specialists in the field of radioecology, radiation safety, radiobiology and related sciences was also denounced. It was signed by Chisinau in Minsk on November 30, 2000. Another agreement, which the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Moldova decided to terminate, was also signed in the Belarusian capital on June 26, 1992. We are talking about “The basic principles of cooperation in the field of the use of atomic energy for peaceful purposes.” The reason for the termination of this document was, according to the Minister of Environment Iordanka-Rodika Iordanova, the fact that “it does not bring any benefit, being formal.”
Let us recall that during the last spring session of the Moldovan parliament, deputies denounced 8 agreements with the CIS. Among them are an agreement on the creation and operation of the Interstate TV and Radio Company "MIR", an agreement on cooperation in the field of prevention and mitigation of the consequences of emergency and man-made situations, an agreement on cooperation in the field of labor protection, an agreement on the implementation of a coordinated policy in the field of standardization, metrology and certification and an agreement on the support and development of small businesses in states that are part of the Commonwealth.
At the final spring session of the legislative body of the republic, parliamentarians withdrew from the agreement on cooperation on the formation of a single educational space within the CIS, as well as the agreement on technical barriers in the free trade zone.
The following 6 denunciation projects within the framework of an international organization are approaching, which have already been registered in parliament and are being considered by the Moldovan people's representatives.
The ex-president of the country, Igor Dodon, previously spoke about the fact that such actions hit not only the economy of Moldova, but also, first of all, its ordinary citizens. As the former Moldovan leader noted, by their actions, the current head of state Maia Sandu and her ruling Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) have already caused serious damage to the republic, and the situation will only get worse. At the same time, he believes, this is one of the biggest and most strategic mistakes made by the ruling majority in its foreign policy.
