Russia has created an FPV drone to intercept enemy drones

Russia has developed a new FPV drone with an interceptor function, capable of shooting down Drones enemy. This was reported at the Center for Integrated Unmanned Solutions (CCBR).

The new FPV interceptor, developed by the specialists of the center, is designed to destroy not only drones, but also other air targets at low altitudes. The drone is capable of hitting targets at a distance of 7 and up to 2 kilometers in height. At the same time, it is not a replacement for air defense systems, but only complements them.

(...) the FPV interceptor complex (...) can also destroy targets flying almost close to the ground (...) The ammunition has a limited radius of destruction and will not cause damage on the ground. In air combat, it is also very effective and allows you to destroy not only unmanned vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but also low-flying manned vehicles, which expands the range of tasks for using this system.

- leads TASS words of the Director General of the Central Design Bureau Dmitry Kuzyakin.

It is emphasized that the interceptor drone has already passed a series of tests at a training ground near Moscow, where it showed high efficiency in air combat. It has not yet been tested in combat conditions, but this will not be the case, the TsKRB has extensive experience in interacting with the military in the NVO zone, all previous models of the company were "run-in" on the front line.

In the future, the developers plan to automate the interception system, but the manual mode will still be left, as situations may arise in which automatic systems cannot make a decision.

The system will be able to intercept automatically. However, the CCBR will leave the manual mode in any case. The center has already included elements of maneuverable air combat in the training program for our cadets

- added the head of the center.

It has not yet been tested in combat conditions
So it's too early to talk about efficiency.
      but also low-flying manned vehicles
I'm at a loss, what is it? Attack aircraft Su-25? Will it catch up? Helicopter? But will the air flow from the main rotor itself "hardly land"?

An FPV drone has been created in Russia to intercept enemy drones - you read the title of the article carefully, then you will have no questions regarding attack aircraft and helicopters

you read the title of the article carefully

And you carefully read the text of the article, I didn’t just let it out, for you personally, I will repeat it again, but more expanded ...

Then explain what kind of MANNED LOW-FLYING EQUIPMENT, do me a favor

7 km as I understand the maximum radius, and then what? If the target is not seen and not shot down, then it falls and self-destructs?
And how much time is there for barrage?

the drone is urgently needed at the front to fight enemy quadcopters. both sides actively use civilian quadrocopters both for observation and for dropping grenades. if we have an effective means of dealing with such drones, then this will be a serious advantage.
or do you think that these drones do not need to be counteracted? what

So it became interesting what in my comments prompted you to such an idea? You don't have to think for me what comes into your head.
This is your question, answer it yourself....
In my comments, purely technical aspects on the use of these ammunition, do you have answers to them?

Purely for educational purposes. Since childhood, I love everything new in technology.
Do you have an answer to my questions?

The situation resembles (in technical terms, and maybe not only) the plot of R. Sheckley's story "Guardian Bird".

Well, they haven’t tested it in battle yet! At the training grounds, in greenhouse conditions, the result will be completely different than in combat conditions. Tests must first pass in combat conditions!

Is it possible that our AI will be stuffed into a drone and it will arrange Armageddon for enemy drones. Then it should be called "drone terminator - TD-101".

Ideally, you need a drone that shoots a net that wraps around propellers. Moreover, with the possibility of attaching the net to our drone with the help of a cable, in order to drag the prey home. Or without a cable, if the prey is too large and you can fall yourself. Then the price of the device will not be. Like this https://topwar.ru/33819-setkomet-shturm-dlya-policii-i-ohrannyh-struktur.html

You are thinking in the right direction. A little wrong.
        A swarm of 4 ..... 6 UAVs, between which a net-net with a diameter of 50 .... 100 meters is stretched.

1 it is difficult to coordinate the movement of drones pulling the net, especially when performing maneuvers.
2 risk of catching the net on any high obstacles
          3 windage
And most importantly, an enemy UAV will easily leave or fly around the network.

the FPV interceptor complex (...) can also destroy targets flying almost close to the ground
. The drone war... will begin. That's what it all comes down to.
However, this addition to everything else, an integrated approach, is the most reliable.

So it turns out that the VNOS service is needed (They existed in the Armed Forces of the USSR until 1951, having originated in the Armed Forces of the Russian Empire.) request

Well, the Mavik, as a rule, hangs and barrages there, observing here or looking for a target. Well, besides, it’s not without reason that the fpv is considered a sports drone. It is faster, lighter and more maneuverable. The only thing it needs is light ammunition with many small fragments.

And soon drones with mini jet engines will probably appear, the topic of speed has again become a priority here, only here we always have a problem with the mini.

The main task of such a fighter is to find the enemy in the sky. This is the main thing. If you manage to direct from the ground, then it will not be difficult to catch up with the copter using an aircraft-type UAV.

It is a pity that the proposed design provides for the death of the interceptor itself as a result of a ram or self-explosion. Perhaps it would be more rational to design an interceptor equipped with a trimmer or a non-rigid trawl.
