Germany handed over to Hungary "reference" samples of the Leopard 2A7HU tank and Wisent 2 BREM

Hungary received "reference" samples of heavy German armored vehicles for approval and launch in a series. This is about tank Leopard 2A7HU and universal armored recovery vehicle Wisent 2. Hungarian resources report this with reference to the military department.

The German company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW / KNDS) handed over to the Hungarian Ministry of Defense one Leopard 2A7HU tank and one Wisent 2 ARV as "reference" samples. The equipment was delivered to the base of the 11th tank battalion of the 25th infantry brigade of the Hungarian Armed Forces in the city of Tata for review and approval as standards for the production of mass-produced vehicles. Once approved, the tank and ARV will be sent back to Germany. Delivery of serial machines will begin at the end of this year.

Hungary decided to switch to German military equipment, getting rid of the remnants of the Soviet one, by signing a contract with the German company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) in 2018. The agreement provided for the delivery of 12 Leopard 2A4 tanks from stock for training use by the end of 2020, and then 44 new Leopard 2A7+ (Leopard 2A7HU) tanks and 24 new-built PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzers of 155-mm / 52 caliber with delivery dates between 2023 to 2025.

In 2020, the Hungarian Ministry of Defense began to receive Leopard 2A4HU tanks from the presence of the Bundeswehr, they entered service with the 11th tank battalion of the 25th infantry brigade of the Hungarian army stationed in Tata. On these tanks, crews were trained, awaiting the arrival of a more modern version of the MBT.

Previously, the battalion was armed with 15 "working" T-72M / M1 tanks, these were the last tanks of the Hungarian army. With the receipt of German armored vehicles, the Hungarians will form three linear companies on Leopard 2A7HU tanks and a training company on Leopard 2A4HU tanks.

It is rich to see the Hungarians live, since they buy tanks and self-propelled guns en masse from the Hans. Or do they also buy for European loans?

... the country is a parasite ... yes, in principle, like all the countries of Eastern Heropa, including Greece .. but the trends on our ball are such that there will soon be no one to rob ... Heropa's locomotives already have exhaustion ... and there is more fun ahead will be judging by the events on the black continent

44 new tanks are not enough, the Hungarians can afford it. Compare this with the ambitions of Poland - there are hundreds of Abrams, Leoperds and a whole thousand Korean "Black Panthers"

... yes, I don’t care .... leo2 got pissed off in Syria, pissed off in nau ....... I’m on my side ... Cornets, Metis and tank Invars will swallow them with a hitch ... I no longer mention Whirlwinds and Assaults ... and yes, an old RPG-7 with a TBG grenade
and a whole thousand Korean "Black Panthers"
... well ... so for information ... the Korean has a lot of problems in combat terms .. the first is armor protection ... the turret niche has a ridiculous 20 mm, and the second is a controlled hydropneumatic suspension of the rollers, hitting which even from the shooter leads the tank is out of order, .. let them buy at least a million ... and the result will be one of the above PTUK

And there, I suspect, the ammunition is stored? Great booking...

hydropneumatic suspension of the rollers, hitting which even from the riflemen disables the tank
Just the case when the complication of the system due to an increase in the number of system components leads to an increase in the probability of failure of the entire system due to a malfunction of one component (at the institute, something like this took place on "terver-matstat", in my opinion - it was a long time ago).
A friend has a Citroen with air suspension. Let's meet - he has all the talk about how he went to the service to repair it and how much it costs.
If on a South Korean tank the suspension is made according to the same principle, then well, it’s in FIG. It would be better if my butt would not ride in such softness, but on each tram rail the suspension would not go into suspended animation. By car in the city, such unreliability is not critical - there is always a tow truck and a familiar master in a car service. And on a tank in battle?

So Hungary really evaluates its role in the world and its military power and therefore is not going to fight with anyone. Tanks like that, "Schaub Bulo", for the parade.
And the Poles do not see the edges, yellow water ambitions hit in the head, they seriously gathered to fight with Russia for "eastern kresy", Smolensk, they say, is "primordially Polish". Here they are stuffed. To your own peril, because. I hope the next partition of Poland will be the last. Enough. It stinks too much from Poland.

In open sources, there is such information on tanks:
    T-72M1 - 34 (total 164 in storage)
    130 tanks in reserve.
Will be replaced by Leopard 2A7+ in 2020s.

Hungary received "reference" samples of heavy German armored vehicles for approval and launch in a series.
And the "reference" ones are put under a cap with air pumped out from under it, but Germany demands to be returned after paper procedures.
The Germans complain that there are not enough tanks in the Bundeswehr, while the "reference" ones are being driven back and forth.

At one time he served in Tata. Beautiful places, interestingly, the Magyar tank formation was not based on our former unit. The park was well equipped, through the fence the missile brigade "Points" with fortified hangars, a mountain town and not far from the part of the shooting range. Yes, there were times they kept the floor Europe and half were afraid.

Would you mind sharing a link? Where is it written in plain language about the above (and others, if any) shortcomings of the state of emergency?

Now I’m more interested in where the 72s went, including ammunition and spare parts?
