Poland intends to form the most combat-ready Ground Forces in Europe, saturating them with modern foreign-made military equipment. The main suppliers of equipment for Poland will be the United States and South Korea. Only one tanks K2 Black Panther Warsaw ordered 1 units from Seoul. This was stated by Polish Minister of Defense Mariusz Blaszczak.
Poland does not want to drag out the rearmament of its own army for a long time, producing equipment at domestic enterprises, therefore it prefers to buy it from the "best manufacturers" in the world - the United States and South Korea. At the moment, the Ministry of Defense of Poland focuses on the rearmament of armored units, only the South Korean K2 Black Panther tanks, the Polish military ordered one thousand units.
The main destinations for their acquisition are the United States and the Republic of Korea. In total we will buy a thousand K2 tanks
- said Blaschak.
It is known that at the end of July of this year, Warsaw ordered from South Korea a thousand K2 tanks, more than 600 K9 howitzers and three squadrons of FA-50 fighters. The first deliveries will start this year. With them, Warsaw intends to close the border with the Union State of Russia and Belarus. In addition, Poland intends to strengthen the eastern flank with the help of American Abrams tanks and Apache helicopters. Poland already ordered 116 decommissioned Abrams tanks in mid-July, now awaiting a decision by Congress on helicopters.
Apache, together with Abrams, will form a barrier that will close the Brest Gate (...) The point is that Abrams tanks, together with Apache, constitute an insurmountable barrier
- said Blaschak.
The Brest Gate is a strip 80 km wide between the rivers Narew and Bug near Brest near the Polish border.
