The Russian BMP aroused great interest at the DEFENSYS 2010 exhibition.
New directions of modernization of armored infantry vehicles BMP-3 and vehicles based on it - commander's, BMP-3F, BREM-L produced by JSC Kurganmashzavod - aroused great interest during a specialized exhibition of land, sea and aviation defense systems DEFENSYS 2010, which took place in Thessaloniki.

As UralPolit.Ru was informed in the department of strategic communications of the Tractor Plants Concern, the concern’s stand was visited by the Ministers of Defense of Greece and Serbia, the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces and the Director General of the Procurement Department of Weapons of Greece.

High-ranking officials were keenly interested in the areas of modernization of the BMP-3, as well as BMP-3F, BREM-L. The materials demonstrated by the experts of Kurganmashzavod OJSC and the Special Design Bureau of Machine Building (SKBM) again convinced the Greek side that negotiations on the supply of light-armored Russian-made equipment should be resumed as soon as possible.

“We are ready to cooperate with Greece,” said Vyacheslav Zhukov, deputy chief designer of the SKBM. - The issues of completing the upgraded BMP-3 in a variant acceptable to the Greek armed forces have already been discussed and worked out more than once at the bilateral level. And we can resume and continue this work at any time.

The booth presented by Tractor Works was one of the most visited at the exhibition - it was examined by representatives of the Greek Defense Ministry, military delegations of NATO countries and numerous guests of the exhibition.
