ATLANT - the future transport technology

26
Considerable scientific and practical experience gained over the 20 years of work has allowed us to proceed to the development of the Aerostatic Transport Aircraft of the New Type - ATLANT. This combined aircraft combines the best qualities of the airship with the individual elements of the aircraft, helicopter and hovercraft. Such an approach allows, while maintaining the unique advantages of airships - greater range and carrying capacity, economic and environmental efficiency, to get rid of the disadvantages traditional for this type of transport.

The size range of ATLANT devices with a load capacity of 15 t, 60 t, 170 t and a range from 1500 to 5000 km is being developed. According to preliminary estimates, the cost of transportation will vary within 7-25 rubles per ton-km, depending on the carrying capacity of the aircraft. They can be used both for medium and short range distribution, which will link the existing transport hubs with remote regions, and for long-haul transport with the possibility of door-to-door delivery of goods, including to unprepared sites or to the water surface.

The ATLANT capabilities for the delivery of military cargoes deserve special attention. The introduction of this unique vehicle is fully consistent with the new concept of creating a mobile army, opens up new opportunities for mobile use of radar surveillance, air defense and missile defense, delivery of amphibious units, the creation of airmobile control centers.

The ATLANT passenger version will be able to set new, previously unattainable standards for the comfort and safety of air travel.
In general, the introduction of ATLANT will allow:

create a fundamentally new transport infrastructure in remote regions of the Far North, Siberia and the Far East;
in cooperation with newly created transport corridors, to involve hard-to-reach regions in the single economic system of the country;
accelerate the development of unique distant mineral deposits with minimal damage to the environment;
significantly reduce the time of delivery of large-sized, technologically complex and indivisible goods without intermediate overloads;
due to the abandonment of extensive methods (construction of railways, winter roads, etc.), preserve the ecological balance and the traditional way of life of indigenous peoples in the regions of the Far North.
to solve the problem of the “northern delivery” by year-round delivery of goods to each locality;
get a significant economic effect by reducing the cost and time of transportation;
effectively contribute to the implementation of the concept of creating a mobile army;
create a new comfortable and safe network of passenger air traffic in the European part of the Russian Federation.
demonstrate the scientific and technical priority of Russia in the creation of high-tech transport systems;
increase the export potential of domestic aviation industry due to the supply of aircraft abroad.

      The project is quite old, prototypes were already in the 80s. I heard that the project was reanimated in 2007 under the patronage of Gazprom. Perhaps now they will bring to mind. The project is brilliantly simple, it’s bad that 30 years dusted on shelves.
      The most important thing is that Russia has the best prospects in implementing this project, since there is a market for such cars. All Siberia and the Arctic zone are subject to such a machine, and the carrying capacity allows you to transport entire residential blocks. These machines will help in the development of our country.

    If my memory serves me right, then at the end of the 80s of the last century, the so-called "thermoplane" was built at Aviastar - a hybrid of an airship and an airplane. A model of a fairly large carrying capacity (several tens of tons) was built, a number of devices of various carrying capacities were developed. Do not the legs grow from here? Indeed, in Skolkovo, the current hybrid is presented as a new development, although it was presented at MAKS, it seems, in 2009.

          Not much, but for distant places where everyone throws helicopters it’s quite enough to go and the carrying capacity is several times higher. But whether it’s to go to the series is a question.

            Not enough for the model. At that time I often visited Ulyanovsk, they wanted to install new engines on this thermoplane, I think that they would have reached the speed of the helicopter.

    It was smooth on paper, but forgot about the ravines ...
    The project has been so many years old, but so far nothing has been practically done, but what they managed to do back in the USSR, they broke it.
    I hope even now they will bring to mind, and not just promote, they will beat the money and abandon it.

    This is how to make school notebooks of their wood waste and, suddenly, switch to the production of luxury mahogany furniture.

      The process of making school notebooks is much more complicated than luxury mahogany furniture.
      The project is interesting. The device is multi-purpose. Will find application in all areas. From the army to agricultural aviation. Remained a trifle. Desires, means and production capacities for the construction of the first samples and serial production.

        Serial production of innovative technology in erefia, which has no analogues in the world? !! Oh well! Believe further in fairy tales.

        School notebooks are produced in all countries of the world (more precisely, almost all). Elite mahogany furniture is only a select few. Because almost every businessman can afford to buy a line for the production of notebooks, but this does not work with furniture (experience, traditions, technologies, craftsmanship, etc. Not everyone is given). So, dear, do not lie. First of all, to myself.

          You have left out the "little thing". Elite furniture is in demand only by the "elite" and is not in mass demand like notebooks. The demand would grow, put it on the conveyor (modern technologies and capabilities allow) and riveted no worse than a master cabinetmaker. The seamstresses have replaced sewing machines with unique capabilities an order of magnitude higher than the craftswomen. I do not touch the handwork of the master - this is the art of the artist.
          One must believe in fairy tales, then they become a reality.

            Tell me at least one high-tech fairy tale in modern Russian conditions. There are no such.

            Around the cut, theft and ineffective management. They opened only one abscess in the Moscow Region, so the thefts of tens of billions of rubles accumulated there. But this is only the top, not only the ministers and their deputies steal, but also everything down vertically. And there is also a defense order, where kickbacks and corruption on the same scale (drag tens of billions). And there is still a bunch of other ministries and departments where the situation is exactly the same.

            Why haven't roads been built in Russia for 12 years of oil abundance and the reign of Light-faced? Yes, because even on Russia 24 channel they are reporting openly that 60% of the funds allocated for the construction of road roads are being stolen. And how then to build roads? !! And so in all areas (medicine, industry, science, education, housing and communal services, etc.)!

            Corruption and managerial inefficiency must be fought tough and clear, and not razed for decades, that we are about to begin the fight.

            But they won’t start, for thieves themselves.

            PS As Saltykov-Shchedrin said there in the 19th century: "Wake me up in a hundred years and ask what is happening in Russia now. And I will answer - they drink and steal."

            Nothing in this country is changing. And it will not change. For the mentality is such ...

            --------------

            Oh, and about notebooks and mahogany. If not in the topic, then this miracle blimp is going to be done in Skolkovo office, which produces paintball fields.

            If again about analogies, then who told you that the machine operator on the line for the production of notebooks will be able to re-qualify as an elite cabinetmaker. If hands grow from experience, then there is nothing to help. And for the majority they grow from there. This is just about piece manual goods.

    The question is how to fill it. If hydrogen is dangerous, if helium is expensive. In Samara, there was a cryogenic plant for producing hydrogen, in Volsk there was a whole cryogenic plant at the Military Institute of Aeronautics and Airship Building of the USSR Armed Forces. And the Americans buy all the helium; on RBC news, the Amer’s company has signed a contract with Gazprom. And the project was still described in the journal Technique of Youth for 78 g.

      The thermoplane had a balloon filled with helium to create "zero" buoyancy. And the shell, inflated by the exhaust (exhaust) gases from the motors, which created the lifting force. Adjusting the lift is simple - directing some of the exhaust outward (not into the shell). The motors turned the propellers to create thrust. Somehow it all worked.

    I think Atlas is an interim development. Our research centers have more serious developments. For example, ECIP is almost a flying saucer. The main secret of the plate is in the vortex device, patented by its inventors in Russia and abroad, which gives the device unusual aerodynamic properties. Part of the surface of the plate body consists of special cells. Not needing a special landing strip. Saratov Aviation Plant agreed to participate in this project.
    Our designers are again ahead of the rest!

    That's right, these are the so-called "red" (Soviet) developments that have been on the shelf for a long time, if it goes into production, it will be great. And how many more such developments, relevant to this day, are gathering dust there, the most interesting and detailed about this is written in his books by Maxim Kalashnikov.

      And how many Soviet promising developments went abroad in the 90s.
      At that time, even the bourgeoisie didn’t even have enough people to simply process all the information coming from the union, if you remember that in the 90s there was a huge technological leap in Western countries, was it not an accidental coincidence .. It’s time to start introducing our own technologies into life ourselves, Russia inventors always was full, only fools unfortunately too ...

      And the builders of the airships did not even know about it. Do you know why their construction stopped? Just because fire hazardous hydrogen was used! And helium was at the price of gold. Now the situation is different, so they began to revive the idea on the basis of modern technologies.

        The originality of the thermo plan was to use hot exhaust gases to create lift. It was very original performance, very. At the same time, helium was not consumed at all (it was not necessary to compress and expand helium, it was always in the same state).
