The Ukrainian side confirms the earlier information that the Russian troops liquidated the Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Makaev. This man was one of the commanders of the operational command "South". The headquarters of this command (at least, as follows from the official reports of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine) is located in the Odessa region.

Information about the death of Colonel Makaev of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is confirmed by the Bolgrad district administration of the Odessa region.

Makaev was the head of the department of civil-military cooperation of the "South" command. According to some reports, he was involved in the development of a plan for the military use of civilian port infrastructure for military purposes, including for transshipment weapons.

According to representatives of this administration, Colonel Makaev will be buried tomorrow, June 6.

In the Odessa region, they say that a member of the command of the OK APU "South" allegedly died at the front. However, in the Ukrainian public there is information that Makaev, along with several other senior officers of the Ukrainian armed forces, died during a recent Russian strike on one of the military facilities in Odessa. At the same time, there was evidence that the SBU is preparing to intensify activities related to checking in the most operational command "South" in order to identify a person or group of persons who could provide the RF Armed Forces with information about the gathering of senior officers for a meeting.
