The Ukrainian official met with British Foreign Secretary James Claverley, who arrived in Kyiv. The parties discussed the support of Ukraine by Britain, the supply of military aid, Ukraine's entry into NATO, as well as the training of Ukrainian pilots on the F-16. Shmygal thanked the representative of Britain for creating a "fighter coalition" and readiness to assist in the training of pilots. According to the Ukrainian prime minister, the first groups have already left for the United Kingdom.
Today, the training of our pilots is on the agenda, the first groups have already been sent to the UK. On the battlefield, the Ukrainian armed forces are being reformatted according to NATO standards
- said the prime minister.
According to Shmygal, Kiev hopes that all issues related to the supply of aircraft will be resolved at the next meeting of the Rammstein contact group on Ukraine. Claverly assured that Britain would support Kyiv for as long as necessary to win.
Earlier in Kyiv, they announced the creation of a "fighter coalition", which included eight European countries, including the UK. The main contenders for the supply of fighter jets to Ukraine are Denmark and the Netherlands, which will transfer the F-16 to Kyiv. In total, Ukraine wanted to receive at least 120 fighters.
