German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius: Germany may reconsider its position regarding the transfer of fighter jets to Ukraine
Germany initially refused to supply Ukraine with modern Western-made fighters, saying that it would not transfer the F-16 to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but this position may change. This was stated by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.
The head of the German military department, talking with journalists from German publications, said that Germany's position on the issue of transferring military equipment to Ukraine aviation may change. According to him, Berlin is now weighing all the pros and cons, the final decision will be made in two weeks and it is quite possible that it will be positive for Kyiv.
Pistorius said.
If in the issue of fighters the Germans allow the supply of aircraft, then on the Taurus cruise missiles everything is unchanged, Kyiv will not receive them. Berlin refuses, following the British, to supply the Kiev regime with long-range weapons, capable of delivering strikes on the territory of Russia.
On the issue of supplying aircraft to Germany, NATO and EU allies are pressing, demanding that Berlin join the so-called "fighter coalition", which, to date, includes eight European countries. On the other hand, Zelensky, with an outstretched hand, constantly demands weapons and aircraft, sending his emissaries to Berlin. Recently, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that Kyiv wanted to receive part of the Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets from Germany, of course, free of charge.
