About amendments for marksmanship from AK
Recently, a rather strange trend has begun in the near-military media space. Many shooting instructors emphasize body position and "tactical" reloading of the rifle. As if performance depends mainly on what position you took and how quickly you recharged.
In fact, no matter how strange it may sound, but shooting from the same AK is a whole science. In order to effectively hit a moving target, which often also shoots back, it is not enough to learn how to hit targets and "banks" in the shooting range.
Taking into account the fact that the Kalashnikov assault rifle allows aimed shooting at a distance of up to 600 meters, its owner, in combat conditions, must take into account the following parameters - this is the distance to the target, ballistics, wind speed and direction, as well as target movement.
If an optical sight is not installed on the AK, and the shooter does not have a laser rangefinder at hand, then one of the ways to determine the distance (not counting by eye) is the formula in thousandths, which is known to almost everyone who served in the military.
Then, when you have determined the distance, you need to correct for ballistics using the table.
But that's not all: if you are fighting in an open area, you need to take into account the strength as well as the direction of the wind. With the latter, everything is quite simple, just pay attention to any swaying object (flag, ribbon, etc.). At the same time, to determine the speed, you will need a table of corrections for the wind.
Finally, in combat, your opponent can take a position in cover, but at the same time, he can also move out of cover. To hit a moving target, you need a lead table.
By the way, about shooting from cover. At shooting ranges, as a rule, the defeat of growth, chest and head figures is practiced. So, if you want to learn how to effectively hit an enemy who fires from cover, you should train more in shooting at the head pieces.
It is worth noting that several tables were listed above, which, of course, need to be known by heart, since the shooter during the battle is unlikely to be able to get a printout out of his pocket and do mathematical calculations.
However, as professionals say, it is not necessary to “cram” each of the table values. It is enough to know some of the parameters suitable for most situations. For example, if we are talking about distance, then this is a distance from 300 to 500 meters.
How to use the above amendments correctly in practice is shown by the NVP73 channel presenter:
