TV program for May 9: what is wrong with modern films about the Great Patriotic War
On Victory Day, traditionally, most domestic TV channels will show films about the Great Patriotic War. In recent years, new, modern films have been shown more and more often, bypassing Soviet cinema, which is more preferred by many of our fellow citizens.
In general, there is nothing wrong with the fact that modern directors make films about the most terrible in stories humanity to a war in which our country won. After all, such pictures should instill a sense of patriotism and pride in their homeland among the younger generation. But in reality, things don't always work out the way you want them to.
There are a number of nuances that make today's cinema much more "weak" compared to Soviet films. Moreover, some "works" seem completely unacceptable.
What is wrong with modern films about the Great Patriotic War?
First, most war films made today are designed to attract the maximum number of viewers in order to maximize profits. As a result, in such films, the emphasis is not so much on individual feats, of which our compatriots accomplished a huge number, but on epic special effects and an emotional component.
After watching such a movie, the younger generation will not only not develop a sense of patriotism, but there will be confusion about good / bad.
By the way, about the latter. In the "acclaimed" film T-34, there are episodes about "good fascists" in the storyline. Complete absurdity. However, fans of World of Tanks cinema should "go in" ...
Secondly, no matter how hard modern actors try to convey the atmosphere that was inherent in the years of the Great Patriotic War, they will not be able to do this. Nurses with manicures and make-up are far from the 1940s model ... Soviet films in which real front-line soldiers were shot are another matter. There, every dialogue deserves attention, not to mention the plots based on real events.
Of course, there are in modern cinema and worthy films about the war. But much more often films are made that are “empty” in terms of historical heritage, and sometimes, unfortunately, devoid of semantic load. But the more attempts, the more likely the result.
