Repair battalions: their contribution to the common victory

Every day we hear about the exploits of our military, who are fighting directly on the fronts of the NVO, defending the interests of their homeland. Meanwhile, there are people in the RF Armed Forces whose work is hardly discussed in the media, but their contribution is extremely important for the common victory.

We are talking about repair battalions, which, as quickly as possible, put into operation not only our damaged equipment, but also trophy equipment inherited after the defeat of the enemy.

One of these "rembats" in his report was told by the host of "Military Acceptance". The division is located in the Crimea. The work is carried out right in the field, under the open sky.

Tellingly, mobilized citizens of the Russian Federation, who until recently were representatives of various civilian professions, are engaged in the repair of equipment. Moreover, most of them do not even have a military specialty related to the management, and even more so the restoration of military equipment.

At the same time, the servicemen of the repair battalion in the Crimea cope with the most difficult tasks. For example, in a report from military acceptance, KamAZ was “lit up”, which received hundreds of damage from shrapnel.

One of the servicemen rated his condition at 3 out of 5 and said that the car would most likely go back to the front soon.

However, they are engaged here not only in the restoration of damaged equipment, but also in the creation, to put it mildly, of unusual, but useful samples in combat conditions. In particular, one of such know-how was the BMP1 and BTR-82 hybrid vehicle. An armored cap from an armored personnel carrier was installed on an infantry fighting vehicle.

As the commander of the repair unit in Crimea told the lead, the work is being carried out as quickly as possible. Literally every day at least one restored car is sent to the front.

I read from someone a story about how during the Second World War, after the battle, there were two padded KVs left. One was on a hillock with a pierced dviglo, the second fell into a beam of water, his forehead was pierced. A repair lorry with a dozen pensioners drove up, they looked around and set to work. So in a day in March, they removed a diesel engine from a drowned tank under water, dragged it up a hill, sorted it out and put it on a padded one .. By morning, it started up and went on to fight .. And all this - count with one hand in an open field .. Everything what they had - brought on a lorry ..

No wonder they say - when the mattress makers got acquainted with the figures for the restoration of our equipment, they said - you probably complete your repair teams like we are special forces? Specially selected personnel? To which ours answered - yes, of course, those who are not fit for combat .. The elderly and the crippled ..

    There were people back then!

And now there are such men. Russia is holding on to such men. This applies to everyone, not only to the rembat.

I don’t understand something, did they try to reinvent the BMP-1AM "Basurmanin"?
