Member of the Bundestag: Not a single German or European soldier will set foot on Ukrainian soil

Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, Chairman of the Defense Committee of the German Federal Assembly (Bundestag), made a very loud but ambiguous statement. A deputy from the center-right Free Democratic Party (FDP) said that she excludes the presence of not only German soldiers, but also soldiers of other European armies in Ukraine. The politician noted that "not a single German or European soldier will set foot on the territory of Ukraine."
There will be no ground forces in Ukraine. Not a single German or European soldier will set foot on Ukrainian soil. Dot
— the German newspaper Bild quotes Strack-Zimmerman as saying.
The pathetic statement of the Chairman of the Defense Committee of the Bundestag somehow does not fit with the information that became public after the Pentagon's "secret files" were published online. Indeed, according to these documents, there are already active servicemen of the special forces of the United States and other NATO countries in Ukraine. The Pentagon did not even refute this information, however, specifying that American officers in Kyiv allegedly only control the distribution of Western military aid and do not participate in hostilities.
Frau Shtrak-Zimmerman also touched upon the issue of supplying Kyiv with modern European-made fighters. The German MP said that "there will be neither Tornado nor Eurofighter in Ukraine." The reason for the refusal to provide Ukraine with modern combat aircraft, the head of the committee called the lack of trained pilots in the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine capable of operating these machines.
Another thing, the German deputy continued, was Soviet MiG-29 fighters. Strack-Zimmerman believes that these aircraft "can be used immediately."
Last week, the German government allowed Poland to transfer to Ukraine Soviet-made fighter jets received by Warsaw from the stocks of the former GDR. We are talking about five MiG-29 aircraft. In total, in 2002, Germany sold 23 MiG-29s to Poland, which it inherited after unification with the GDR.
