The head boats of the series - pr.677 "Lada" - B-585 (sometimes the name B-100 and С-100, factory number 01570 is found) and the head pr. 677 "Amur" ("Amur-1650") were laid at the FSUE " Admiralty Shipyards ”(St. Petersburg) 26 December 1997. In 1997, the submarine B-585 was named“ St. Petersburg ”. Boat launched on October 28 2004 g.

The PL series of the 677 Ave. is in production - it is planned for the Russian Navy to build an 2009 PL of this type according to 8 plans. According to the State Armaments Program on 2007-2015, the construction of the 6 Submarine Ave. 677 is planned.

Diesel Electric Submarine LADA

1. Submarine B-585 "St. Petersburg" pr.677 on the Neva River in St. Petersburg on the Day of the Navy

4. Full electric movement with a single all-mode 2 electric motor x diesel generator 28DG DC Kolomna Plant and Electrosila JSC with 1000 kW power, the generator uses 8-cylinder V-shaped diesel D-49 with piston diameter 260 mm, piston stroke 260 mm and speeds up to 1000 rpm Diesel generators are remotely controlled from a central location using a digital control system.

5. Autonomy - 45 days Guaranteed service life - 25 years Guaranteed service life before the first repair - 10 years Noise PL - according to media reports, the noise level of 677 pr should be 50% of noise level of 877 submarine, which means that the noise level around 30 dB is calm

Armament: 6 x Nasal 533-mm torpedo tubes with an air firing system and the Murena automatic quick silent reloading system (2 TA of the upper tier are adapted for firing remote-controlled torpedoes). According to TTZ for the creation of the submarine, it was supposed to install 4 TA with ammunition in 12 torpedoes. Ammunition - mines, 18 torpedoes (types SAET-60M, UGST and USET-80K), torpedo missiles "Shkval" and PKR "Turquoise" (Club-S), launched from torpedo tubes or 22 mines of the type DM-1.

Great photo. But this sub is not something breakthrough and much inferior to the Swedes and Germans in terms of noise.

and how many conversations about VNU

“The St. Petersburg installation allows you to produce the hydrogen needed to generate electricity directly from diesel fuel and in exactly the quantities that are needed to provide electric movement under water. Western analogues suggest pumping hydrogen into special tanks, which increases the fire hazard of the submarine. The power capacity of the domestic installation is 400 kW. The best foreign analogues produce no more than 180 kW. A distinctive feature of the “Cupids" of the new generation is an organic synthesis of classics and revolutionary know-how. In addition to the non-volatile power plant, they have a familiar diesel generator and a number of batteries. ”
          http://nvo.ng.ru/printed/275358
“Russia is currently completing tests of a fundamentally new air-independent power plant (VNEU), which can be installed not only on the Amur-1650, but also on jointly developed boats. And this is a critical condition of the Indian side. So the prospects are good here, "- said Komardin. The time the submarine stays under water due to the promising VNEU is more than 25 days. The time spent under water for foreign analogues of the Russian submarine is 15-20 days."
          http://ria.ru/defense_safety/20120329/608677248-print.html
“The adjusted technical design of the non-nuclear submarine Lada (project 677) was approved, a decision was made to resume the serial construction of the next two ships, Sevastopol and Kronstadt. It is planned to equip them with anaerobic non-volatile installations. The promising Russian VNEU allows the use of standard diesel fuel and does not require complex coastal maintenance. However, it does not have moving parts. In terms of acoustics, this is a great advantage. ”

And it all started (we based on German technology) in 1986 with the S-273, SS-273 (P-613E) ECG with a power of 280 kW:

the noise of pr.677 should be 50% of the noise of the submarine of pr.877, which means a calm noise level of about 30 dB

30dB This is a fairy tale
            Typical Noise Levels

            + 10 dB: whisper
+ 20 dB: noise standard in residential premises
            +25 dB: Off-Road Countryside
+ 35 dB: Room in a quiet apartment

            + 40 dB: quiet conversation
+ 80 dB: truck engine noise
            + 100 dB: car horn
            + 120 dB: pain threshold
            + 150 dB: takeoff
"Black hole" Soviet submarine with a conventional engine class "Kilo" is 97 decibels (dB), that very close to the natural noise of the ocean
“A low-noise submarine is a submarine with a noise level of less than 100 dB (relative to 1 μPa) and discrete (signature) components of the noise spectrum of less than 120 dB.
These boats include American submarines such as "Trident", "Los-Angeles", "Sea-Volf".
It is known that due to noise reduction measures, the general noise level of American boats drops at a rate of 1-2 dB per year. "

PL projects 212/214 (Germany). Boats are considered very high quality and good, as it were, by the majority of the not very knowledgeable population.
These German submarines are not very different in quality from Russian submarines 677 project.
Project 214 boats have ultra-high noise. So on the tests of the head submarine of project 214 in South Korea it was recorded excess of boat noise over declared as much as 40 decibels. As a result, the noise level was at the level of the first nuclear submarines. Yes, replacing the screw with your own, South Koreans achieved a noise reduction of 10 decibels, but the claimed parameters for the noise of the boats have not been achieved. In the Baltic Fleet exercises, Russian ships find the German submarines of project 212 much easier than the previous submarines of project 206. And this is due precisely to the fact that the submarines of project 212 are incredibly noisy.

        Laid 1997

        What's the "secret"

In February 2012, the Russian Navy already completely abandoned the construction of a diesel-electric submarine of Project 677 Lada (Amur-1650). The latest boats of the Lada project, Kronstadt and Sevastopol, which were being built before this time, will be modernized.
