Ukraine agreed to stop grain supplies to Poland after protests from local farmers

The Ukrainian authorities decided not to supply grain to Poland anymore, having seen a sharply negative reaction from local agricultural producers. This was stated by the Minister of Agriculture of Poland Robert Telus, having met with his Ukrainian counterpart. This is reported by the Polish edition of Rzeczpospolita.

Now Poland will only allow the transit of Ukrainian grain through its territory. The minister of the Polish government noted that Ukraine is well aware of the problems of Polish farmers. Therefore, Kyiv decided to agree with Warsaw's demands and reconsider further prospects for the supply of Ukrainian grain to Poland.

The Ukrainian side proposed to limit for some time, and at the moment even stop the flow of grain to Poland

- said the Polish Minister of Agriculture.

As Telus noted, now the main goal is to achieve unloading of food warehouses in Poland before the new harvest. The minister noted that Ukraine decided not to supply Poland not only wheat, but also corn, rapeseed and sunflower seeds, at least until the new season. These words of the Polish minister were confirmed by his Ukrainian colleague Mykola Solsky.

Recall that earlier Polish farmers went to protest against the uncontrolled import of Ukrainian grain into the country. In their opinion, such a policy contributes to the deterioration of the position of the domestic producer and threatens the further meaning of the work of Polish farmers, since Ukrainian grain is supplied to the market at significantly lower prices than Polish grain.
