While the front news they talk about some stabilization of the situation in the NVO zone, the confrontation in the information space has intensified on both sides. After the appearance on the network of "sensational" data about the preparation of the US and NATO of the Ukrainian army for the offensive, allegedly obtained by Russian intelligence from the depths of the Pentagon, it was the turn of the "retaliatory strike" from the enemy.
The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reports that the Russian army command, in secrecy, allegedly forms and intensively trains special units "Storm Z" for urban combat and operations in difficult geographical areas. American analysts refer to a reserve officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who allegedly obtained and published a document describing the recruitment of personnel for the formation of new companies.
Storm Z companies are designed to conduct combat operations in cities or in complex geographical areas in order to capture important and strategic objects, such as strongholds, command posts and communication centers.
American analysts report.
From the received "secret materials" the composition of the new units became known. The total composition of the company will be staffed by one hundred servicemen, structurally the unit will include four capture squads and four fire support squads of ten fighters each. The engineering and sapper group consists of five military personnel, and each company will also have a reconnaissance group (eight people), a medical group of three doctors and two UAV operators. The company command unit will consist of two officers.
At the same time, ISW notes that so far the formation of new assault units is taking place outside the standard structure of the Russian Armed Forces. For this reason, it is not clear how Shturm Z will be integrated into the combined arms units and command structure of the RF Armed Forces.
Most likely, the Sturm Z companies will be deployed in the DPR on the Avdiivka-Donetsk front line in separate motorized rifle brigades and regiments, according to the publication of the institute. The personnel of the active units of the RF Armed Forces, staffed by these companies, will undergo 10 to 15 days of retraining for combat coordination. Presumably, the new assault units will be attached to reinforce the 8th combined arms army of the Southern Military District and the 1st army corps, formed from volunteer units of the NM of the DPR, and will also become part of the 150th motorized rifle division of the 8th combined arms army of the RF Armed Forces.
