The American M58 MICLIC remote demining system was spotted in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine
In Ukraine, the American remote demining systems M58 MICLIC (Mine Clearing Line Charge - an extended demining charge), which are actually an analogue of the Soviet UR-77 Meteorite system, were noticed. A video with the use of this system by the Ukrainian military appeared yesterday on Ukrainian and Russian resources.
The units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine began to use the American mine clearance system M58 MICLIC to make passages in minefields. A video that appeared on the Web shows the use of this system in one of the sections on the line of contact, or at some training ground of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the rear areas, details are not given. To tow a trailer with a mine clearance system, the American MRAP "International MaxxPro" is used.
The United States did not report the delivery of this demining system to Ukraine, so it is impossible to say when the M58 MICLIC appeared in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Americans spoke about the inclusion of demining systems in various military aid packages several times, but without any specifics, they simply indicated positions.
The M58 MICLIC (Mine Clearing Line Charge) remote demining system is designed to make passages in minefields. For this, a C4 explosive charge weighing 794 kg is used, placed in a flexible hose 106 meters long. The charge is supplied by a solid-propellant rocket, after detonation, a passage is formed in a minefield 8 meters wide and 100 meters long. The system itself is placed in a single-axle or two-axle trailer, which can be towed using various armored vehicles.
